Hey everybody, I spoke with Shred and we are set to send a beautiful arrangement when appropriate from the forum family without setting up any account or collecting donations/pitching in a little ahead of time. We can figure up how many to split it and per everyone's comfort level after the fact.

We've asked and are waiting for further instruction from Rocket to see if there is somewhere additional donations might best be able to the most good when he's had time to better know that.

As long as thats cool with y'all we figured it sensible and do-able.
Thanks

Hello forum friends, all donations will be sent to a "PayPal" account. I hope to have all the pertinent information by later today. Many phone call and emails to do first. I'm working today, so this may not get done by the end of the day, so we'll see. It takes 3-4 business days to have the money transfered to a bank account for withdrawal. Flowers are the first priority, so that will be covered until donations are received. I hope I'm making sense, need that cup of "Joe" NOW! smile, half awake and heading out the door. Jane and Cathy please listen for a phone call from me today.

P.S....hope to meet you soon Marci

I'll have my cell with me. I'm in Delaware all day for a show. Sounds like things are under control. Good job! You are a wonderful friend to our Rocket. Thanks to Jane too wink   Cathy

Re: Dedicated to the memory of Derek Duane Revette, Rocket's son..

Just had a chat with mi primo.  He is calm.  He is impressed by and grateful for... this forum, this love, this family.  We are special in thoughts and prayers.  I say our love will move the Universe.

However; a caveat; and I quote him:

"Note: people shouldn't believe everything they read - pass it on!"

I'm fairly certain, if & when he can, he will expound.  Not sleeping much, but he was resting quietly & comfortably thanks to the hospitality of other "family" while we chatted this AM.  No internet where he is right now.

He's happy for me to be playing.  Believe that?  That's Rocket.

Re: Dedicated to the memory of Derek Duane Revette, Rocket's son..

Hi Friends,

I see that another thread has opened, and I am uncertain where best to leave this, so, you will forgive me, but I am going to leave it in both places.

First of all, my heartfelt condolences to Peggy Sue, Derek's mother, and to you as well, Marci.  I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you both one day.

Secondly, I just want all of you to know that Rocket has been in my company since yesterday morning at about 10 am, and still is.  I thought it might bring you all some comfort to know that he is not alone.  I drove up and met him at the Coroner's in San Bernardino and we spent the day doing unpleasant, but very necessary things.  I drove him up to Hesperia and Barstow.... we went to the Police Department, the Highway Patrol, and the spot where Derek died.  Of course, it was very difficult.... very difficult.... but also, I think, in some ways comforting to Rocket, to be there, and to have some  questions, but certainly not all, answered.  I'm getting him to eat regularly and we spent the night at my mom's in Claremont.  Later today I will see him to the airport or train station or something so he can head back home to San Diego for a few days before heading north for the service.

You would all be amazed at our friend.  He is really quite incredible and is handling this horrific tragedy with great fortitude, dignity, and composure.  I am so honored to know him and call him friend.  I am very glad to be able to help him in some small way.  You all should know that he has been moved to speechlessness and tears many times by your messages, both here and on the phone, and by all that you are doing for him.  He feels the love and caring and knows how very real it is.  He is so very grateful.  I am too.  Quite a group of fabulous people you are.... quite wonderful, indeed.

Much love to all,

Libby

A piece as beautiful as that deserves to be in both topics, imho.

Thank you for the news, and thank you for, in a sense, representing all of 'us'  physically with Rocket. Having someone to hug at a time like this is mega important, and necessary. Thanks for being the hugger on the spot, Lil'bit.

I do miss your beautiful prose. sad

I just thought I'd have a quick look before a very late bed, and I wind up with yet another great big lump in my throat.

Shreddy, great big thanks to you too for representing 'us', and for selflessly doing what needs to be done. The flowers sound perfect.

I will sticky Jane's topic for the duration when she posts it.

P.S. Signatures have not gone unnoted. Thank you all for agreeing with the gesture.

Hi Libby,

It has taken me awhile to respond to this because my emotions were so raw and quite frankly, I didn't know if I could come up with the words to express my gratitude and love for you, sister from another mother, for being there for Rocket. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to be there for him, at least physically. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, knowing that you were there for him to hold him and comfort him. Rocket has brought such joy to everyone who has met him and I also want to add how grateful he is and how so very deeply moved and touched by his wonderful family here on the forum. Thank you so very much for everyone's love and support. I so look forward to meeting you Libby, and everyone else that I haven't met yet. I feel like we all already know each other.

Marci

Re: Dedicated to the memory of Derek Duane Revette, Rocket's son..

This is for the Son of the brother i love, i cannot find the words to express my grief, so i'll leave it to song.
I Searched and Searched and i found some songs in my collection which move me and speak the words i wish i could say.
My Brother knows i can pick a good song, These 3 songs say much more in the words than i could ever of said

Derek must have a good man beacuse his father is like an angel

God Rest His Soul

Rest In Peace Derek Duane Revette

Thank you Jane & Jim.  The link works well.  And Libby, I'm so glad you were there for Rocket.  Nobody should have to go through something like this, but knowing you, I'm sure your comfort and love is helping him get through this most difficult time.

Rest in Peace Derek.
