Topic: George Thorogood

Had a rockin' good time in Napa tonight diggin' George & the Destroyers thanks to a Texas hook up with Jim Suhler. Not really sure how I got in the middle, but I wound up connecting former White Sox pitcher Jim Landis w/ George backstage. The old MLB vet was stoked! They'd met years ago and he lives with his daughter in Napa nowadays. The past few days have been filled with some very highs and lows.

Cool, GT is an amazing guy, you know he played 2nd base in semi pro base ball, eventually The Destroyers made him choose, Glad he chose the guitar.

I did know that and wanted to chat a little baseball with George since we had meet & greet post show passes, but I yielded to the old-timer and enjoyed some one on one with Jim Suhler who hooked us up through a friend in Dallas(thanks Tex!).

Re: George Thorogood

I love George Thorogood's music!  The last time I saw him in person was in 1984 or 1985 when he played at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle as George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers!!!

Re: George Thorogood

I know this is Joe's forum but GT is my favorite of all time. Saw him 6 times last year and made a video but I'm not posting it up until I tweak it a little. Got to know the band and the crew and George actually came and held my hand during one of the songs at my first show. ^_^ Jim Suhler is a really nice guy too and I got to talk to him at a few shows. I actually wouldn't know about Joe if it wasn't for GT so yeah. smile
