Topic: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

After spending more than five years trying to source these Page amps. I finally get together a fantastic stereo/split-up-able rig...here we go.
You might not know the name...but believe your ears...not the hype of the fat M.

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

Looks cool! The heads being wider than the cabs would drive me nuts though haha! I'd stack them vertically then heads stacked centered on top. I know I'm ridiculous, sorry! Can't wait to here the beast -S

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

Announce the time of test and I'll roll down the window. Should I renew the earthquake putty on the bric-a-brac?
Those things could live through a nuclear blast. Awesome!

Oh, I have this problem too. These are standard sized heads...just the cabs are naturally more 'compact'...but I could never get rid of them, because they weigh less than half a 4x12 and have more than double the openness...again...believe the ears..took me a few years to cotton onto these.
I've moved on from the cosmetics...a long time ago in fact...I mean, the heads are workhorses from Russia...no boutique pansies that look like they should be on your ladies' dressing table.
Sounds up as soon as...camera is good SLR...just need a suitable mic.

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

Rig looks fine to me.  It used to bother me that my old Bandmaster head was wider than my Marshall 4x10 but it rocks.  I look forward to hearing this set up. Ted Nugent used to say his rig "could blow the &@$$* off a charging rhino at fifty paces". I'd say this rig could put the hurt on one too.

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

I recall you posting a video some time back of one head and cab. Those heads just plain look cool! I like the symmetry of the knob placement for the photo too.. It would be cool rolling them into a venue, nobody would have a clue what they were- instant badass status! They do look like they'd be workhorses of an amp too.

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

Besides the rig - I'm really digging the top on your Les Paul - very nice! smile

Oooosh! Some rig that mate! I'm only on the Wirral, no doubt I could probably hear these at full volume from my Garden! lol!

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

I know it's an old topic to bring up, but saves starting a new one...and some new photos for the real amp lovers out there....side by side with a 70s Plexi...guess which one wins? Sounds increddddible. I need to buy the worlds stock of these...
Thought it might be something different that your everyday DSL.
Please enjoy and I'll 'attempt' to answer questions.

Built to withstand a bomb hit with massive transformers. I've worked on some of that era's stuff. Love the phenolic pcb.

I gotta say I think you got one of the nicest flamed top Standards around.  The amps are icing on the cake my friend.

Oh thanks... smile
Flame isn't a big deal for me...it just happens to be the best sounding Standard this side of '59...I went to a big music shop last week to try out all the Custom Shop stuff...R8 and R9 etc...not only does this play better than all but one, it also sounds better...
Weighs a fair bit for a Standard, a lot heavier than anything made since 2005...and it has its own vibes going on. A very lucky purchase.

Re: NAD x2 - Petersburg P100s - New Photos

Very nice rig, I like it. I've never even heard of them before. They look very well made...I bet they sound great. Congrats
