Topic: Hello from the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.

I've been a HUGE Stevie Ray Vaughn fan for MANY years and always thought that he was "the best;" well, my favorite at least. But it was only about 18 months ago that I heard this Bonamassa character, and it was like "WOW!" - how did I not know about YOU? Suffice it to say that I'm now a totally enthralled JB fan, love his music and especially like how "approachable" Joe seems - a real guy who loves to play and loves his fans. I just found this forum and am looking forward to being an active member.

I'm a little over the hill at 65, and, after futzing around with a guitar for years, am now trying to get a little more serious. The Blues is my love, but I'm finding that it's difficult for an old dog to learn new tricks. The fingers and head-eye-hand coordination are a LONG ways from what they once were. But I keep trudging on, hoping that someday I'll get up the nerve to do an open mic or similar venue.

I was wondering if it would be appropriate for this forum to host a "Joe's Music" topic where members could find non-copyrighted sheet music and/or tabs. I'm aware of sites like "Ultimate Tabs," but there is SO MUCH music that hasn't been presented in these forms, perhaps  due to copyright issues, I'm not sure. Part of this is due to my unsuccessful search for music for "Black Night," "Jelly Roll" and "Bird on a Wire" although I've seen BOAW chorded out, maybe even on this forum. Anyway, having a one stop music shop for all of of little JB's out here would be terrific.

Hi from the UK. Welcome to the forum from another oldie (57) but all that means is that we were lucky enough to have lived the late 60's and 70's when rock and blues were at their prime. Joe is indeed awesome (next viewing Sheffield 24th March). If you go on Joe's store there are tab books on there you can buy. Other than that, enjoy the chat .

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Welcome Rick, always delighted to have someone older than I am join up, though I'm close behind you. tongue

You're the newbie to whom I intended to say, 'you wouldn't believe how many members we have from the Greater D.C. area'. That part of the world is an historical center of Bonamania, so you're gonna feel right at home here. wink

Enjoy.

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith

Hello Rick, welcome to the forum. Great to have you here. You will feel right at  home. Browse around, take a look at the Gear forum. A lot of questions about Joe's gear and sheet music are answered there. Have you seen Joe live yet?

See ya around,

Bill
