Topic: Bon Temps Roulez!!!

Laissez les Bon Temps Roulez to be exact. Happy "Fat Tuesday" and all you good Catholic boys n girls don't forget to go to church tomorrow to celebrate Ash Wednesday.Who doesn't want to walk around with a black smudge on their forehead all day??? My B-Day, Feb. 18th fell on Ash Wednesday in 1953, the year I hit the ground runnin'. Some years it falls on the Sunday they Run the Daytona 500, sadly 2001 was one of them(RIP Dale Earnhardt). And sometimes when it falls on a Monday it's Presidents Day and people get the day off to celebrate with me, Whoopee! If you can, have yourself some Gumbo or Jambalaya and wash it down with an Abita or a Hurricane, remember, Lent starts tomorrow.

Re: Bon Temps Roulez!!!

a hurricane does sound pretty good, thanks much Dawg. I'm not catholic but Happy Mardi Gras everybody. Having lived in Mobile for several years in the 90's I came to look forward to it. My children were young at the time and they thought it was Christmas in February. The first year I started going to the parades, I had a friend who was in one of the Krewes. He told me which float he would be on and said if I called out his name (first name only, it's secret you know) when they came by he would throw something good for me and the kids. I called his name and turned my head for just a second and that SOB hit me as hard as he could in the side of the head with a moon pie. He did throw the kids some nice beads. Mobile,AL is of course the original of Mardi Gras celebrations, and not New Orleans as some think.
I found this and thought it very funny, Mike won't think so. However, this Krewe is known for poking fun at people. That's just what they do year in and year out. We did let the good Times, I mean the good Tides, Roll that night.

I grew up 70 miles west of Burbon Street.  Been to many a Mardi Gras parade.  Some of the things I have seen there are not fit to print.

Re: Bon Temps Roulez!!!

FAT TUESDAY!  Let the good times roll!  One year (when we were young and love was free) my brother got very drunk and this lil queenie with me gave out aspirin & vitamins before we laid down finally to sleep.  FatBoy got up in the morning, very hungover, and went to relieve himself.

Well outa the head comes a screaming, "AHHH I'm dying! Jeffery *(&&^%%^$@ Get your%$# in here...AHAHAHHHH."   So I raced in there (took out a stool and pulled queenie  and the creole woman on the floor tangled in the covers.)  And he's pointing to the bowl, which was filled with bright green hydraulic waste metabolites.

I howled laughing as I explained to him, that the vitamins turned his morning stream a fluorescent yellow and the old Cajun had put blue ty-d-bowl in the commode. He just looked at me with one eye.

I made Bloody Marys and he stopped hyper-ventilating about half way through that.  3 guys and 4 girls in that suite that year.  How sweet it was.  Lots of beads.

Re: Bon Temps Roulez!!!

check out what we missed in Brazil and other countries. yeah, we have dinky floats although colorful, pulled by a John Deere tractor. They really must work on this year round.
