the Blackstar HT-Dual is a great pedal for two different boosts and drives. In my set up I have four vaiables of lead sound 1.Blackstar CH1 Boost 2. Blackstar CH2 boost 3. Tubescreamer 4. Big Muff + boost.

all four are great sounds and the blackstar makes my rig really versatile.

Nice! The Blackstar also seems like a good pedal. I would get that pedal but I don't want to deal with the maintenance of the tube in it.

Re: Pedals

So many choices for OD pedals and I find, besides personal taste, a lot comes down to which guitar and which amp. I've got a few, but my OCD tends to see most use with my LP and my TS-808 gets most use with my Strat.

For delays, two of my favs are the El Capistan and the Replica.

Re: Pedals

DELAY- I'm enjoying the Vox Time Machine. Nice delay that bypasses properly and doesn't kill tone one iota.

Gibson Flying V Faded Cherry (Crescent Moons), Reverse Head Stock Custom Strat HSH, Vintage V100 Icon Lemon Drop LP, Blackheart Handsome Devil and Blackheart Killer Cab, BSM TrebleBooster, Metal Muff, Dunlop Wah, Vox Time Machine

Re: Pedals

I replaced the stock Sovtek tube with a JJ and that was an improvent, will have to try an old Mullard, JRC or Phillips tube in it and see how it goes! I haven't had any troubles with it at all yet.

Re: Pedals

Nice. I really like the TS808 for 3 reasons: 1. Joe Bonamassa uses one. 2. SRV used one. 3. They have a nice fat tone

I like the Carbon Copy because it's really dark and would compliment the mid boost and treble boost on my Stratocaster well.

I'm going down to Guitar Center today to try them out!

Re: Pedals

a stock 808 is good. also MXR has a few nice options. the badass overdrive and carbon copy delay are solid choices.

the current ts9 and 808 are virtually the same circuit, be wary of this. a cheaper ts9 will do the trick and you could even do a few cheap mods on it yourself if you're game!

Re: Pedals

I've tryed a bunch and my handwired TS-808 sounds great. Also have a Box of Rock, and Barber Direct Drive.

Re: Pedals

Check out the whole line of Celestial Effects pedals.  They are top notch original designs and a bunch of great guys to deal with!

Amp: Firebird Musical Amplifiers
Guitars:62 LP SG , 02 FB VII, JB FB I, 76 Electra Omega, 64 Firebird V, 73 LPC, 61 Custom Tele, 59 and 60 Melody Maker
Effects: Mythos Chupacabra, Strymon Deco/Flint

Re: Pedals

Find an old ts9 and mod it to an 808, that whole hand wired reissue thing is a ploy to get your money!

I was looking at the standards TS808 but I've heard great things about the hand wired model. But the old TS9s go up into the 4 digits depending on the year.

Re: Pedals

Stock 808, end of story! Buy one!

Sorry I meant secondhand...not an actual old one... Secondhand ts9 modded to an 808 is fairly cost-effective!

Re: Pedals

Oh. That would be a good choice as well. I'm definitely looking on eBay and Guitar Center Used for good pedals.
