Topic: Concert for the Princess

I watched the 1 hr version on tv last night and thought it was good. What really struck me was the quality of the voices of Joss Stone and Fergie. Someone needs to get those ladies to make some blues CD's. I'm not big on "girl singers" but their tone was gutsy and full-bottomed!  Bravo to the Princes, would have made their "Mum" proud! Cathy

Hi Cathy .... Here's a little add on to your post ........ When Me & Rhonda saw Joe in Dallas at The House of Blues
May 9th ...... Joe & The Boys played The Cambridge Room that night while Miss Joss Stone Played the other Room at The H O B ,

So i was talking to a guy after the show and he said that Joss Stone had finished early & popped her head in to see Joe escorted by some staff ...... Wonder what she thought

I Personally think Joss has a very good voice & sound

I saw most of the Wembley gig on TV and thought it was a little lack-lustre. Joss Stone is ok...she'll age well.....needs some grit in her voice, that'll come with time but I reckon her heart's in the right place. If the sun had been shining I'd had rather been in my garden instead of watching the gig.

Watched bits of the show too. What on earth were the BBC thinking of. the sound on TV was absolutely aweful! no link to the mixing desk, just seemed like they stuck a stereo mic up front and centre on stage to capture the artists and crowd at the same time. Sounded like it was recorded on a phone! Dreadful, just couldn't take it seriously

Joss Stones first album is old style R&B. She smokes on it. Bought her next two and have a matching set of coasters. She went for a more contempory sound. She is the real deal she just needs to get back to singing powerful songs and quit trying to be hip.
