Thanks for alert Redblues.  I checked out his I'm Gonna Be Ready and promptly purchased it.  Good stuff!

Re: Josh Smith

If it's the same Josh Smith I am familiar with. I first met Josh as he was touring thru the north east about 15 years ago. He was represented by a talent firm called A cast of thousands.  I had worked with Cast of 1000's in the past as I was bringing in some better blues bands to compliment the local talent here in Pittsburgh.  I was sent a few of his cds for a listen and was really impressed. His playing was incredible, his vocals at the time were abit weak in my opinion but I did indeed hire them for a night. It turned out to be a fantastic night. He was I believe 17 at the time and his touring band at that time was "The Frost"   If you would like a nice mix of his early stuff send me an e mail with your address.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Josh Smith

Been swimming in the deep end of classic Soul of late and after listening to Josh's cover of Sam Cooke's "Already Found" I knew I was listening to a special artist.
Jeff - JS has developed a decent singing style to these old ears and he ain't too bad playing his Fender.  I'm including an attachment to his web site and PEOPLE you must take the time to watch the vid of Smith and Raphael Saadiq in Montreux!
After watching it I said to myself..."Damn, this is why I love the blues!"
Thanks again RedBlues

Re: Josh Smith

really good stuff he's got guys, thanks much. I like the singing, quite adequate and reminds me a little of Popa Chubby and Lance Lopez. I would imagine that his singing on a studio recording is maybe even better.

Welcome to the site redblues, good to have you here.

Re: Josh Smith

Actually been around a while, only recently started lurking again and actually posting here and there, but thanks!

Curby- the sharing of music is always an admirable goal, and I'm happy to (accidentally) spread good tunes smile
