Re: The NFL - National Football League

Well here goes, I'm picking the New York Giants in the upcoming Super Bowl. And it has nothing to do with a certain someone liking this team a lot. Although, if they were to win, it would be nice if that certain someone would return the favor and give me a Giants Super Bowl victory hat. cool

Anyway, some time ago I said that I felt the three strongest teams were the Saints, Giants and Packers. Not knowing much about the 49ers at the time, I would have included them in that group as well. The Giants have now defeated the Falcons, the Packers and the 49ers, the last two at the opposing stadium, to get to the Big Show. So I'm sticking with them to win it all.

This?! from the guy who bleeds GREENCHEESE! I'd almost pay to see you wearing this hat at the next game.
I pick Giants too to support the Joe guy, though the spread today was one point. It'll go one way  or the other on a turnover or fluke at the last. I think over 33 would be a good bet.

I'm going for the Giants too, will write more during the week.

I watched one quarter of the silliness from Honolulu last night, which I'm sure was fun for those sitting there in the sun. As a tv sporting spectacle it was a washout as far as I was concerned. Worst of all, I really couldn't believe my ears, but yes, it was true, they have "tweeting stations" along the field so that the stars can immediately inform all their peeps and bros that they caught a TD pass.

Being a long time Patriots fan it's New England all the way!!!! That Super Bowl lost against the Giants is still scarred in my brain. A win will be the best therapy to resolve that dreadful game. And I can live in peace once again. GO PATS!!!!!

rotfl - You do add humor to this thread.  They knocked you out of the playoffs.  I think he should send you a hat just for that reason. Maybe he can send the whole Green Bay Packer team some of those hats?  I'm sure they are anxious to wear them.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

really don't care who wins, just want to see a good game with both teams at full strength if that's possible. Bronkowski took the boot off yesterday but was still favoring that ankle, and today is Wed of course. It remains to be seen if he can actually run on it and make cuts to get open by Sunday.

I want one of these !!! don't know if I could listen to Steve Lukather, unless it was a rather long sit down. But you can do the business and put on some Joe, I'm sure he'd be amused.

The Toto line is the BEST! We tried several of those low flush volume units by various sources since they are mandated here in water poor SoCal, finding it took two flushes to get the job done hmm . Finally got the Toto. It really works. Our's is just the chevy model though but does have a silent seat closure that slowly lowers. Don't tell the wife about that Brady special (with remote control) 5 grand!

Let's see, so for 5K I can splurge on the Toto cadillac model, or I could go with the Joe Bonamassa sig LP and maybe have a little change left. That's easy, go with the Toto because as the saying goes "the older you get the more time you spend in the bathroom". lol unfortuneatly it's true.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Too true bud. I checked prices and it is discounted to around $3500. yikes Really though, if you are needing a replacement, these are some engineering marvels. We had Kohler, American Standard, none compare.

Back on topic now. FOOTBALL!!!!! Some kind of hype going down now eh?

BradyPatriootsBellisuck is the guy I just love to hate, but to bring balance to the force...and after showing tebow that TD passes are worth 6 whole points and he could make 'em after a week of press and radio silence, I'm just saying.

Pretty Tommy put his game face on, and took heap plenty scalps, so just to be contrary, even to my self cause I do like the most unlikely hero Eli, I be's qwinter bet the Divine One a dollar of my ill gotten gains for the patsys.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

This info comes courtesy of a NFL stat freak on another forum, I didn't actually look them up tongue

The ESPN experts go 6-3 Giants.

USA Today goes 5-3 Giants.

CBS Sports goes 5-0 Giants.

Which is pretty surprising when you hear that the Vegas bookies have the Pats as favorites, and as we know, bookies are usually right.

My feelings are known, I have no connection to either team and wouldn't care all that much were it not for the fact that the Pats knocked out the Ravens. Therefore, I am a Giants man tomorrow. I guess that my Jets friend who is going to help me stay awake, will also support the Giants, so there'll be no back and forth shouting here. wink

I missed your comment..."They knocked you out of the playoffs"?? Surely you jest! By the way, when was it that the Raiders won their last Super Bowl? Oh yes, that was in the last century in Super Bowl XVIII (18). Well heck, that's only 28 years ago. Maybe they'll win another this century...if you're lucky! lol

Don't know about your own team?  More than figures. Good you have me here to keep you informed.  Yes I do jest.  Green Bay decided they liked the Giants uniforms better and will be wearing them tomorrow.  It's all in the below article.

http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=320115009

I don't worry about too much flack from a Green who, 49er, Giants, whose next I am trying to please, as long as it's not the Raiders.

I'll send you tickets if you want to join me in the Black Hole when Green Bay is playing.  You are more than welcome too.  lol  Raider fans always generous.

I am a Raider fan no matter if they are in last place. I was at the AFC Championship game in the Black Hole and tons of other Raider games.  Don't forget we were in the Super Bowl in 2002.
And we are an up and coming team.

I also don't say Brett who? like you after you so took up his cause when he was your QB.  After he's gone, it's Brett who?  I can find that too if you like me to.

Enjoy your relaxation tomorrow.

You might be keeping him because you have him under contract till 2013.  Wouldn't you still have to pay him?

But there is one coach you had that I wish you would have given to us.  That is Wade Phillips.
I guess we can't have him, but I would like to see what he could have done with our defense.
He was the Houston coach I would have wanted.  But he's got a great gig.
