Topic: Joe and SG's

Hey all-

I tried the search function by "SG" wouldn't go through. Anyway, does anyone know why Joe doesn't use SG's? To my knowledge, there is only one video of him playing one. This is all out of curiosity.

Thanks!
Logan

Re: Joe and SG's

Glad you brought that up because I've always wondered about that, too. They would add a nice flavour to his variety of Gibson tones.

Re: Joe and SG's

That's a really cool vid. Thanks for sharing. I've always wonder why too.

Another great video. Couldn't agree with him more. Forget the haters. British-style Blues is the coolest form of bad-assery!

I enjoy the blues. Period! It doesn't matter from who or in what form. Just as long as it's good.

Re: Joe and SG's

I think just generally people mean there are two genres and it tends to just be split into british and american (although you have two american styles, with Chicago and Texas blues really, but I digress...)
In that video with Joe playing the SG he's also playing through P90s, which I believe he is not a fan of either.
Couldn't tell you why he's not an SG fan though, maybe the balance, can get annoying.

Re: Joe and SG's

just like anyone else I'd guess. I don't play superstrats because they don't feel right to me.

Re: Joe and SG's

I'm thinking Joe could get into fuzzy guitars like Billy Gibbons next.

Re: Joe and SG's

Hey Logan,
At the Orpheum in Vancouver (Dec 17,2011) Joe played a red SG for Young Man Blues and it sounded great!
Rocket was there and took a bunch of video, perhaps he's got a clip of that song.
