Thinking about getting one of the Fender Blacktop Jazzmasters. Any opinions? I love the tone and versatility with the 2 different pickups.

Go for it! I really dig the black top series all of them. If that one comes in 24 inch scale neck that one would be my pick. The humbucker it that guitar really burns too! Very hot modern sounding, while the single coil in the neck is smooth and adds that class of versital sounds to the mix.

I like the uniqueness and of course that nice spicy hot tone. I really love the tuning machines and the tremolo is perfect. I think I'm gonna start working for it.
I'm a fender nut. I know a lot of guys on here are Gibson this Custom shop that, but in the end they all tune the same and have the same basic features, but its what can you do with it that matters! Save up and enjoy the guitar!

Me too!!! I would take a Fender over a Gibson any day. I actually have an Epiphone Casino but my main guitar is a Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster that I customized with a Clapton Mid Boost and a white pickguard.
I love my Les Pauls, I have an Eric Johnson Strat that is HARD to put down.
I just love Guitars! I've got project guitar at my house that I'm doing for my dad now. Its a 50's Kay 12 string guitar that my dad picked up for $100. The action was like an inch off the fret board! But the guitar had a truss rod and we cranked on that neck until it was straight! Then we pull the bridge saddle off and sanded at least half an inch (exageration) off that thing! The action was right at the 10th fret but fell off after that I guess you can say it was a compound radious going up and down the fret board. Tommorow I'm going to cut on the nut lower the strings and get them even at the nut. After that this thing should chord like a champ. The tone is just incredible from this thing. Maple flamed sides and a spruce top. The back is composite but who cares. Its just a really nice cheap guitar. Expensive guitars are fun too, but with 3 kids I learned I need to focus on bang for the buck.

Good luck cutting the nut! :::Fingers crossed:::
Thanks! I've done it before no big deal. I do all my own work because I could never get tech's in my area to set guitars up exactly how I asked for it. If I dork it up its plastic so, yeah it sucks but then I can replace it with bone or something. I knew how guitarist just seem to be scared of messing up something. I've always operated as though the guitar is expendeble but its not like things are not replacable. It used to be cars, now its guitars. If you can turn a wrench, turn a screw driver or use sanding paper and files then you can work on your own guitars. Sometimes I think thats what I dig more so then playing the darn things! The chase to make something nice even nicer!

Nice! More expensive doesn't always mean better quality. For example, look at Epiphone. They are putting out some really beautiful instruments. And reviews say that the Epiphone JB Model is better built that the Gibson JB Studio. Squier is also putting out some amazing guitars and basses. And now i have a newfound love for Danelectros. Very inexpensive but they have a unique tone.
I've never owned a Dano, but one of the guys I used to jam with 12 years ago would let me rock out on his. There is nothing like a Danolectro guitar really, and they can get so rude so fast. I love it!
