Re: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Grrrrr another load of time wasted trying to buy tickets. No luck at all. Nothing. If anyone has any spares from the pre-sale I'll give you a hug and buy 2 off you.

edited to add hug optional!

Good on you Murray. Spuds the man!! Plenty of time to get into their music smile

Spud is indeed the man, he managed to get tickets this morning for the 20th. Nowhere near as good tickets as for the 18th but better than nothing!

This is where all the tickets went and gives a taste of what will probably happen when Joe plays the RAH again. sad

I suspect that many of these tickets were bought in the fan club pre-sale over the last couple of days and think it's absolutely despicable that "fans" are making a fast buck out of Tom.

I don't know if things are different with the fan club over there, but in the States if you bought tickets for a Tom Petty show thru the fan club you would only get the tickets the day of the show at will call (with your credit card and photo id).  So, if these were bought thru the fan club presale the owners of these tickets are going to have to meet you at the box office the day of the show.

Such a bummer for you guys.  sad

My pal got tickets via the fan club pre-sale and he told me the tickets have to be picked up at the venue.

Re: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Facts of fan club presales :

On Tuesday (for 20 June) they were supposed to go on sale via TP website at 10am with unique password and pick up only at box office. Live Nation made an arse of it and tickets went on sale at 9am still via the website but without having to enter password and tickets were postal. Non paid up members bought tickets at 9am and immediately they appeared on Ebay. Didn't find this out until about 9.45am. The ticket link was sorted later in the day but the damage was done. I suppose touts could have paid the $45 for fan club membership knowing they could buy 4 tickets for each show. If they did then they could have bought more for the 18th June show.

On Thursday (for 18 June) they got it right and like all other TP fan club sales, tickets can only be collected at box office so there is going to be a loooooooooooong queue.

On Friday, the general public link on TP website was the RAH site and not Ticketmaster and they didn't have much of an allocation. I know a guy who logged on at 9am and got an automated email that he was number 1300 in the queue!!

Also, on Wednesday there was a priority O2 presale and once again they immediately started to appear on Ebay.

David - I sent you a PM.

Re: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

And one thing I didn't agree with was that you could join the fan club and immediately be eligible for a ticket. For USA shows I had to wait as long standing members got first priority and I had no problem with that.

Re: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Kenny - are you still going to the Tom Petty show?  If you are I have a huge favor to ask.  If there is any kind of a special poster for this can you pick one up for me and I will pay you back? Wooders can vouch for me.  It would be so cool to have something commemorating these guys playing there.  Really bummed they aren't coming anywheres near where I live this year.  A t-shirt would work, too.  PM or email if you think you can do this.  Thanks -
