Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

A powesoak to reduce it to 0.1 Watt? This is ridiculous.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

Muddy. Not for me.

I couldn't agree more.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I tend to agree... sort of like if Dodge had had made the new Charger with a 4 cylinder engine, with the option of going to 2.  Someone needs to tell these amp companies that more power is ok.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I'm all for big amps (personally a fan of 100w at all volumes...even super low...it has that fatness around each note that beats a 18w etc) at most volumes.

If you have children, nervous or elderly neighbours...grab a multi-fx floor unit...wow, these things are really good now. I use one for practice or playing after 10pm...the emulation of compression and note definition is quite impressive and they even clean up with guitar volume. It's come a long way even in five years. I'm not even one to afford an Axe-FX...but man, they must sound great...that would be my whole home rig and definitely all the effect rig out gigging.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I didn't think it sounded bad, it just sounded like a very small amp.  Gotta take it for what it is really.  Everything is being downsized everywhere you look.  But, I too like the sound and look of a big amp over all else.  Needless to say I won't be buying one of these "toys", but thanks for posting so we could have a listen to it. -Seth

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

Better sounding demos for sure...but I'll need to hear them in a room.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

The 800 sounded great. But also would like to hear them first.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I for one think they look great. I would like them all! I can imagine a 1 watt Jubilee for the desk at work...

The JCM 800 has a jubilee mode. Check the description at anderton's.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

Buy a Amp Maniac and run what ever amp you want at bedroom volumes.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I like to hear them in person. If they sound as big as the Class5's, I'm in for one.
There are other 1W amps out there but so far those haven't really impressed me.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

Crazy expensive given there limited use (other than recording) ..was always going to be though as they are limited for a never to be repeated occasion and UK made

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

I thought about it last night and decided I wanted to get in on the action. Having just sold some gear I had some money so one of these babies has been ordered.

http://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-amp-h … e-head.asp

Being able to try any of these is not going to happen for me so have to order blind. The perfect mini home rig? I did consider all the other but realised I didn't need all the features of the others, plug in and play.

Re: First 1 watt marshall anniversary demo.

At $750-900 each, not sure how attractive these will turn out to be, even for dyed-in-the-wool Marshall fanatics. There are a lot of good used buys out there for, you know, real Marshall heads, to say nothing of all the other sweet amps out there in this price range. I guess we'll find out soon enough...   wink
