I agree that SF won this game. As I said above, they FORCED 5 turnovers. But Rocket, to say they beat NO soundly is not giving NO enough credit. This game was undecided until the end of the game, in spite of those 5 turnovers.
The game isn't over, but let me get officially get behind my buddy Shreddy's team, the San Francisco 49ers. I was thoroughly impressed by how they handled the Saints yesterday and as crappy as my team played today, I don't see the Giants going to Candlestick Park and beating the Niners. The Niners defense can dominate as long as they get pressure on Manning.
I finally can sit back and relax the rest of the season. Crap, I ripped my Packer pants during this game! Very frustrating...

Now that I cleared the air, I'll say this.....the championship runs through the City by the Bay. We've got big plans for next weekend already under way. Hope you all have fun on Championship Sunday, it's gonna be electric out here, just like yesterday.

My observations after this weekend:
Playoffs are a beast all their own and I don't think I've ever witnessed so much sloppy playing before.
I disagree soundly that the Saints lost this rather than the 49ers winning it. The Saints were beaten. Soundly.
That's a fan talking, Rocket! I watched with two others, all three of us were 'neutral' fans in that we didn't really 'care' who won as neither team was 'our' team. It was our consensus of opinion that the Saints lost it more than the Niners won it. This observation is not intended to dis the Niners in any way, just an observation from a neutral viewer.
To say that the Saints were soundly beaten is just silly, and you know it! Anything could have happened in those bizar final minutes. Still, it was far and away the most exciting game of the weekend! 
The Ravens will have to play an awful lot better on offense next week if they don't want to leave Foxboro after a spanking.
The Packers never got going and Eli's arm was having a field day with all the time in the world to find his receivers. Can't recall a QB having so much time throughout an entire game. It was a game that made you wonder how each team had run up their respective stats during the season??
Pick success this weekend = 50%. 
Good thing the season is nearly over!

Actually it reminded me more of Steve Young hitting Terrell Owens @ The Stick to beat Green Bay years after the Taylor catch in the Super Bowl.

I can't see a New York Giant fan ever wanting their team to lose so they can relax. It's just the opposite, the phones would be a buzzing. Just doesn't happen in New York. Congrats New Yorkers.

Gotta agree with Rocket, what he didn't mention was the Saints ran into one of the best defenses in the league with 4 players on the Pro Bowl roster(Which hopefully will be a moot point for all 8 Niners on that roster). The key to the Giants win was dropped passes by GB, way beyond their average. I can see the TV execs Tebowing in their offices right now hoping for a SF/Balt Super HarBowl. A NE/NY match up will cut the ratings in half. Not to mention how sick & tired the majority of NFL fans are of Tom Brady & the Pats.

How about sloppy officiating as well. Even with replays from every angle in the booth they totally botched that fumble call in GB that Tom Coughlin contested. Sheesh!!! It's the playoffs, you gotta get it right.

Alex Smith had a very good game (finally after 7 years in the league with 7 different offensive coordinators) and Vernon Davis (who two years ago, Mike Singletary told that they would be a better team if he watched from the sidelines while SF played with 10 men) made an outstanding catch with 9 seconds left in the game. Make no mistake, I am a Saints fan, but San Fran wanted it more. I will be pulling for the 49er's in the NFC championship and the Pat's in the AFC championship.

I agree with you there Mike, I see a Patriots/49ers Super Bowl. The real question will be when and if that happens is, who wins, the team with the best defense or the team with the best offense? Should be a good match-up!

If these last games showed anything, it's that you have no idea if any given team can/will reproduce the expected form on the day, or if they will suddenly drop passes, give away turnovers, etc. I don't know much about the Texans, but the Ravens pretty much played exactly as expected - they have a great defense but a real hard time scoring, especially so when Rice has an off day.
I'm all for the Ravens, obviously! I'll keep the faith, but I would not be surprised at all to see them lose in Foxboro. If so, I will happily support either the Giants or Niners against them.
As far as their game goes, I don't really have a strong like or dislike for either. The Niners will have a chance if they can get to Eli. I have no idea if the Giant's offensive line had the game of their lives, or if the Packer defense forgot how to rush, but I've never seen a QB with so much time during an entire game! Give Eli that much time and he'll pick you apart.
Purely to be contrary, and because there are so many left coast fans here, I'll go for the Giants. 
Green Bay has had a bad defense all year and it finally caught up when they couldn't score enough. Giants have a good chance to win with them peaking now and agree with George that Ravens will come up short on scoring. I see Giants/49ers in the end. Toss up who comes out on top. One will want it more, or turnovers will tell the tale.

As far as their game goes, I don't really have a strong like or dislike for either. The Niners will have a chance if they can get to Eli. I have no idea if the Giant's offensive line had the game of their lives, or if the Packer defense forgot how to rush, but I've never seen a QB with so much time during an entire game! Give Eli that much time and he'll pick you apart.
Give any kind of quarterback that much time George and they'll all pick you apart. Actually at halftime, I made a post on Facebook saying just about the same thing, they needed to blitz Manning until he burned them and then blitz some more. Instead, they went with a three man rush on many occasions and Eli just stood there looking for receivers. Hell, even I could have completed some of those throws!
The other thing that many missed is, the Packers were done in by R=R, Rest=Rust. None of them played last week and Rodgers hadn't played the last week of the season either. Yes, the receivers dropped way too many passes, but Rodgers totally missed a couple of throws, one to Jennings when he was wide open for a sure touchdown. Honestly, I blame the coaching staff as the offense seemed to not know what they were trying to accomplish plus the defensive scheme was all wrong. You can't get away with any of that when you're playing teams that are ready and have been prepared well for the playoffs. I'm sure old Vince could be heard screaming from 6 feet under.
