Re: The NFL - National Football League

I was sent this ESPN article today by a close friend and confess it hit me pretty hard.  Running on a lean mixture today and couldn't choke back the tears.  I first heard about Tim Tebow when he was high-schooler and my respect for him has never waned.  Unfortunately there aren't enough Tim Tebows in this world.  I hope some of you enjoy reading this article cause I did.

Go Saints! But seriously, how to find Joe's old tour dates?  I've seen him about 6 times but can't remember all the dates and didn't keep the ticket stubs (dummy, I know).??

Yeah, the article is spot on about him Curby. There's lots more too. I read he spends a lot of the off season in the Phillipines where he lived when young helping the poor. An exemplary lifestyle from a real caring person. Thanks for the link. Win or lose today, he is a real winner.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Incredible buzz here in the Bay Area over the 49er's today. This is THE best weekend of the season, one or more of these games today & tomorrow should deliver some high drama. Would love to see the Niners pull this out, but only in a shootout with Brees throwin' for lots of yardage and Akers kickin' lots of field goals(I got both of them on my fantasy team this week.) Time to head downtown to watch the game, GO J Dawgs team!!!

It's good what he does here.  I respect him for this as I respect a lot of football players and others who do a number of things for charity.  An number of them set up foundations for disadvantage youth.  We had a player here who would go to the Animal Shelter on his own time every week and volunteer there.  And there are a number of people who do a lot of helping people in their regular lives who make it their job.

Just an incredible game, JDawg!  Our guys doin' it in all aspects of the game.  Saints DESPITE all those turnovers played incredible also, but the 49ers were a few notches above incredible!  Alex Smith, great game!!! RUNNING for touchdown.  This defense stood the test!
Vernon Davis great, great, emotional play and winning great catch!  Defense just superb.  Be on the lookout.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Congrats to the 49ers who displayed a never give up attitude and scored the winning touchdown with almost no time remaining. At this time of the year it's pretty tough to win when you turn the ball over 5 times. Who will face San Francisco for the NFC Championship game? No predictions coming from this Packer fan, but you know who I'll be pulling for. wink

P.S. Go Pack! smile

I briefly met Tim and heard him speak last summer. I was skeptical beforehand but he was very kind and seemed very genuine. However, I’m ready for TebowTime to be over. GO PACK!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Well, congrats are in order for our left coast fans. Smith played surprisingly well under pressure, but tbh, I thought this was more a case of the Saints losing the game rather than the Niners winning. I mean, throw 40/63 for 462 yds. and four TDs and still lose? Of course, five turnovers didn't help. roll

The fan game rating on the NFL site is 97%! Never seen a rating that high before. The last 3.30 mins with four lead changes were absolutely incredible!

No miracles in Foxboro, Brady quickly showed everybody his true class with his record breaking first half performance.

Gronkowski = cool

Oh yeah, RAVENS!!!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

What a great game! Very happy for SF. I've been pulling for them ever since Singletary took the helm...and now with another former Bear as head coach. Both guys I admired, so I'd like to see them go the distance.
I honestly didn't think they'd generate enough "O" to win. The real key to this game was SF defense forcing 5 turnovers.

I disagree soundly that the Saints lost this rather than the 49ers winning it.  The Saints were beaten.  Soundly.  What happened during those 23 incompletions need to be reviewed to really understand what transpired. The ease with which what DID work occaisionally for New Orleans demonstrated the FEW mistakes San Francisco's defense actually made.  When they had come back from 17-0 and had the chance to tie, IF they could get in the end zone and yet had to settle for 3...the forboding future of a long off season loomed precariously on the realistic side of possibility for the Saints.  As far as turnovers, one word seems appropriate-forced! 49ers were all all over the ball like flies on feces.

Hopefully all the media buzz won't become a buzz killer for this great SF 49er season.  Team football gents ( and ladies)!
