Topic: Boss effects pedals

Has anyone experience issues with these pedals.  My effects are mounted on an SDK pedal board with their power supply.  My compressor used to operate fine on the power supply but now it will only function with the battery.  My DD3 this morning turned off while playing and now when I depress the on off switch the light will turn on but will not stay engaged.  Seems odd to me since I just leave the dd3 and compressor normally on all the time.  My JB Fuzz face won't work at all with the SDK power supply, all I get is noise but the WAH works fine.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Best regards

I had trouble with the RV-5 reverb once...played it fine all day then the next day I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't engage so  I sent it back, got a replacement, and the other one has worked perfectly since! These pedals have a reputation for being sturdy and well built. Have you tried new power supplies? Try take the battery out then plug in the power supply. Try separating them from your board and plug them in one by one and see if they work. If none of these work then they are probably faulty...but i think boss have 5 years warranty but not too sure

Re: Boss effects pedals

I've never had any issue with boss gear. I own or have had TR-2 tremolo, TU-2 tuner, SD-1, DS-1, DD-3, RV-5, The fender spring reverb one. All sturdy as hell. I just got an old BF-2 flanger in the post today to complete my Neil Young inspired pedalboard From 1987 I think. Hopefully it works.

Re: Boss effects pedals

Never had a problem with the pedals working. I have a DD3 and a TU-2 and both work great. I never liked the tone of their overdrive pedals though.

Re: Boss effects pedals

It sounds more like a Power Supply problem to me. I never had issues with boss pedals other than being very noisy.

Re: Boss effects pedals

Do you have the power supply daisy chained? If you do get rid of it. That always leads to headaches.

Re: Boss effects pedals

The TU2 tuners are awesome.

Re: Boss effects pedals

Yes the power supply is a daisy chain.  I think thats the main issue so thats going to go before I have issues with the other pedals as well.  I'm going to take the DD3 in to my friends at the music store and get their advice.  That seem like more of a switch issue but we shall see.  I have their blues driver but I don't use it.  I prefer my TS 808.  I'm going to add a Way Huge Pork Loin to the board next.  I'll post my findings and thanks for the help.
