Re: The NFL - National Football League

The 30th anniversary of "The Catch" is being celebrated by 49er fans today. Montana rolls right and hits Dwight Clark who out leaps Dallas' Everson Walls for the most famous play in 49er history. The play that started a decade of smack talk, LOL!

First thing out of Al's son Mark was "We need a new stadium." Back to LA Raiders? Our owner stated the Chargers were here to stay. (until he changes his mind roll)

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Well, my mind is made up for this weekend.

Saints at Niners - Brees is in the form of his life.

Broncs at Pats - I believe that the miracle stops here...but hey...who knows...

Giants at Packers - I really can't imagine an upset here.

Texans at Ravens - I see no reason why the earlier result should not be repeated.

Any one of these games could easily go the other way, which would make the rest of the playoff picture more interesting for everybody outside of Green Bay & New England.

Of course, theoretically, all these could go the other way. The NFL is always full of surprises. If any one of my picks has an 'off day', which is always possible, then yes, their opponents could win. I just don't think it's likely, unless there's an act of God involved........

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I'll pickem.
Saints, on a roll
Broncos, divine intervention? There's a huge payday for playoff wins in his contract!
Texas, few injuries make them strong
Giants, stepping up in the nick of time
Upset city coming up?
Playoff time is never predictable. Crazy things happen. Remember the Holy Roller, Immaculate Reception, Frost Bowl? The list goes on and on. One player makes a flub or lucky play and the outcome changes.
NO with Brees on fire is the only team I see as a semi lock, and that could be the other way as well.

Since I had such great success last week roll (1-3) will go with what George has, but I do think the Texans may be inspired and keep it close at least for a while.

It's a funny old world, to be sure, anything can happen, it ain't over till it's over (attempting cliche record in one sentence). tongue

Talk about funny old......

FORT MYERS -

Sunday night's Bronco-Steelers' game had quite the effect on the web. Many people were left to wonder whether the number of Tim Tebow's total passing yards was just a coincidence, or if it was divine intervention.

Tebow threw for 316 yards, averaged 31.6 yards per completion and when the touchdown pass was thrown, the national TV rating peaked at 31.6.

"I don't know if it is necessarily an act of God, but I don't think anything happens by accident either," said Next Level Church Pastor Matt Keller.

The Bible verse John 3:16 is no stranger to Keller. But as far Google searches go, the verse has never done as well as it did after the big game.

Monday, "John 3:16" was the number one Google search.

"I think it's great that Tim Tebow has captured the imagination of the next generation," Keller said.

Twitter reported there was an average of 9,420 tweets per second after Tebow's 80-yard touchdown pass in overtime.

That number crushes the royal wedding and Osama bin Laden's death.

And while the "Tebow Effect" holds some interesting numbers, not everyone is sold.

The phone lines at the Miller and Moulton Show on Sports Radio 770 were tied up with Tebow talk Monday.

Moulton says he isn't sold that Tebow's acts are divine, but that could change.

"It's a coincidence and it's funny," said Moulton. "If they beat New England in New England, a team that's already beaten them soundly, then I think you are going to have some believers."

These would be my picks too, but I'd bet at least one of these games will go the other way. My guess would be NY over GB, based on the Giants peaking at the right time.

Yall listen up...please smile....Niners pick off Breeze...a "pick 6" is what they call it, the 49ers bust a grape and shock the world!!...yes, I said the Boys by the Bay are going to win this game....the grass has NOT been cut and the sprinklers were "accidently" left on over night ....Drew is a different player on grass, and Harbaugh has got one hell of a game plan for the Saints

I saw the segment on ESPN last night. It's true that they are making this field as rough as they can for the Saints. They said something like, and I hope this is not misquoting, that the NO conversion rate in the red zone goes from about 70% on artificial turf to about 30% on regular grass. That is a marked difference if true. Geaux Saints.

I haven't read much in this thread, I enjoy watching NFL games especially during the playoffs. I don't have a favorite team per say. I usually cheer on the underdog and I have a lot of favorite players. Enjoy watching for UK players that make it to the pros, without a winning program it's great to see those that work hard and make it.

Thought I would share this video here, funny stuff, enjoy smile

Yeah my friend sent this to me and I was ROTFL.  Never thought about the Bowie connection. Luv it. So many great lines in that. I love the part where the audience screams the most.

It's gonna be hard for God tomorrow, because I thought he was always on Brady's side with the "Tuck". Decisions, Decisions.  Easy for me - New England, got the tight-end.
