Topic: Joe's Jazz III plectrums

Hi all,
I have read recently that Joe uses Dunlop Jazz III plectrums. Does anyone know what gauge and type they are, as there appears to be several sizes/guges available. ??
I love Joe's music, but i really dont want one of his 'signature' ones to be honest.

Dunlop Jazz III are 1.38mm thick and pretty nice, but I'd suggest to try Max Grip Jazz III - I personally like them even better.

Hi everyone !!
Those plektrum are quiet nice,i didn't knew before that exist ,but if you play with your fingers,those plektrum are perfekt to old between your fingers during you play with your fingers,and to take again and start to play à riff or so on !!!!
Sure finns many others,important it's to feel comfortable when you play.
I have 5 of those ,The first one i found it on The floor at The BCC concert this summer in Stockholm , Sweden and The 4 others,i buy it on ebay ,if you have time,go to youtube and search for roadcrew67 , i was and The first row and did Two video with My iphone,that are quiet good.
You can see at when Joe playing Song of Yesterday,he is very well playing with fingers & plektrum and it's like he teach everyone how to do,he as so great teknik and feeling when he play, it's great to see.
I keep those plektrum now & and play only with that.
How you play with your finger and asweel nagel, you Will have à quiet differrent sound from your string Guitar.

I've been using the Joe Jazz III's, just ordered some Max Grips to see if they grip a bit better.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I prefer Jazz III XL's as they are the same pick but have a full size body instead of the tear drop shape.

I love them. They do take some getting used to and are not very forgiving. I found it has forced me to pick cleaner

I find that it totally screws you when your playing with someone else pick because the thing is so think you don't have to pick hard at all to be playing hard.  With regular heavy picks I have to try to pick hard when I want to hear a tonal difference.

I have the Jazz III's but sometimes like using a big blue Gator pick. It's a day to day thing. wink

I use Dunlop Tortex heavy picks like the blues and greens because I have 11s on all my guitars. But for my Bonamassa moments I use a Jazz III. It just changes my tone and puts me in Joe- mode.

Dig Jazz III's but recently discovered V-Picks... jury is still out for me but first impression, really like them. Though they are not so good for palming when you want to play with your fingers....
