Topic: What amp to go with jubilee?

I know this has been asked before so sorry in advance. My situation is a little different. I have an 89 jubilee 25/50  that i play through an oversized cab with a EVM12l in it. I play mostly at home so can;t crank the thing. I use Joe's ettings on the clean channel and use a zvex box of rock for my dirt - all knobs at noon - and I boost with a fulldrive or fuzz depending on the mood, I can get some great hendrix tones with a strat and some great Joe/Classic marshall tones with my PRS. What I want is a dumble style amp to blend. I have a super champ xd but it's sounds weak as next to the marshall. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps a hot rod deluxe or deluxe reverb and dumble style pedal? I was also considering the line 6 dt25.

Any thoughts?

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

If you want a Dumble type, why not consider the Ceriatone OTS or HRM series? Another smalltime, I guess boutique-ish builder, (I don't know if I'm using that correctly), but Phaez amplification also does a dumble type with a blackface type clean channel, the Dragonfly.

A good dumble style pedal I've heard is the Zendrive II.

What is your price range?

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

i'm thinking in the ball park of 500ish maybe more. I like the idea of the DT25 as it has a fender channel but also a dual rectifier for when i want to be a little heavier. the dt25 fender model and a dumble pedal could get me close.

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

Grab a Fender for clean and let the Jub do the heavy shite.

Agreed, I use a Fender 57 Twin Reissue along with my 100 watt Plexi and it covers all the bases.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

princeton or maybe a hot rod deluxe + zendrive would be cool. smile

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

A clean fender and a pedal may be the way to go

PM sent btw.

Re: What amp to go with jubilee?

Something like a Divided by13 or Two Rock Studio/Jet would be where I'd go so can get those chiming cleans with something leaning towards the dumble type tone as well.
