Topic: GET THE LED OUT -TRIBUTE BAND

FRIDAY WAS THE 1ST TIME I  WITNESSED "GET THE LED OUT" AMERICAN LED ZEPPELIN TRIBUTE BAND

AT FIRST I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEM BUT AFTER THE 3RD SONG ,
THEY KICKED IT INTO GEAR AND THE WHOLE NIGHT JAMMED...

THE DRUM SOLO ON MOBY DICK WAS FANTASTIC..I THOUGHT IT WAS JOHN B. UP THERE.

THE ONLY THING THAT WAS NOT 100% ON...WAS THE VOCALS AT TIMES...(MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE MONITORS)

BUT ALL OF MEMBERS DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB FOR OVER 2 HOURS...INCLUDING ALL OF THE GUITAR SOLOS

THEY PLAYED A WIDE VARIETY,,,BUT THEY DID NOT DO ROCK & ROLL,IMMIGRANT SONG OR TANGERINE THAT EVENING.

IF YOU NEED A ZEPPELIN FIX...YOU NEED TO CHECK THEM OUT IN A TOWN NEAR YOU...

I WOULD GO SEE THEM AGAIN....

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: GET THE LED OUT -TRIBUTE BAND

Mr Jimmy are easily the best tribute. The guitarist is worryingly spot on in every way possible...even the clothes and mannerisms. Every live lick/bootleg lick is there...I cannot fault him.

One I would NOT recommend is Whole Lotta Led. Awful. Hard distortion and a phaser on the Stairway solo. Laughable.

Re: GET THE LED OUT -TRIBUTE BAND

I've seen these guys several times now, I think they are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!  They deliver every time and give me the Zep fix I crave!! They play the circuit around the Philly area fortunately for me.

I saw one of the guitarists (the curly long haired dude) in another band in a bar before a Clapton concert , he was playing Cream, talented guy...super nice too.

I highly recommend this band...if you can't get the real thing, they are a great substitute. I see they are coming to my area again the same night we have tickets to see the Black Keys, so I'll have to pass this time.

I never heard of Mr Jimmy, maybe a UK based band, not too much in the states?

Re: GET THE LED OUT -TRIBUTE BAND

There's a couple of long time zep cover bands that make the Chicago area their home Prezence and Kashmir.I have only seen Kashmir.I was very impressed by them. The singer has got Plants vocals down pat.
I also saw an LA band that came through called Lez Zepellin. All female band.Let me tell you they are a powerhouse.Anybody who likes Zep if they play near you should try to catch them.
