Above average picker, but not the best singer.  A bit too nasally for my tastes.  Kind of a shame though cause his songs are well written.

I'll give a little first hand knowledge about Matt & Band..... This is a very intense band that has been making consistent steps towards grabbing peoples attention on a national level.  I know the band was a trio in the past.  The first step was when they brought in a keyboard player several years ago.   He is awesome.  Great chemistry between & Matt and Eric.  About 18 months ago John Hummel was brought in to play drums.  John has an amazing power behind the kit.   A lot of Bonham in the best kinda of way.  The band plays A LOT of gigs.  Accoustic, big clubs (just played the legendary Stone Pony), small roadhouse gigs.... they do them all.   People will have their own opinions concerning the guitar.  Whether you like a tele, strat, LP, etc... Matt has his style and he does it well.  What can't be discounted here is the entire band.  As a whole.  These guys are pros and I highly recommend seeing them on tour.

DISCLAIMER...I'm know Matt, Eric, & Scott.  I have a tremendous respect for the hard work they put in.  They are very cool guys.  I have the highest respect for John Hummel.  We are good friends.  My band hired John for two UK tours in 2010.  Everyone liked John.  He's a very fun guy to talk to at a show and a great guy to have as a band mate.

This is a band of brothers!  Go check them out.

Have a few of Matt's albums - very good, solid stuff. I'd say worth catchin' if in the area, and if you do, pass on your thoughts.
