Topic: Putting together the rig, NAD

Just ordered a Phaez Sibly. For those of you that don't know, Phaez amps are custom built amps by Randy Fay in Canada.

I'm planning to use this with my Jet City for a two amp simple rig. The Jet City for a dirty, crunchy rhythm tone and the SIBLY for a cleaner, lead tone
I may run them together for a thicker sound, so I'll get a Whirlwind AB/Y eventually.

I use the Jet City 112 Cab for my JCA20 and I think I will get another 112 for the SIBLY but not right now.

Pedal wise, I'll use the Way Huge Pork Loin with the JCA and the DD-3 delay probably through both.
Any reverb pedal or new Fender reverb tank, will be run through both and the Bad Monkey may be used with the SIBLY depending since it has a boost switch of its own.

Thanks, he also does custom built amps, to whatever design you want (I think) so its another alternative to Ceriatone.

I won't have it up till Christmas, since I am at Uni now and all my gear is at home. sad

So after having about two weeks to acquaint myself with the amp and since I finaally got around to taking pics, here are some opinions on the Phaez.

Its really loud. :-O
Also a 20W, like my Jet City, but I can barely turn it up to about one, without it being too loud. (Thats both one for the Master and Gain)
The clarity and articulation of the notes are insane. I never expected it to be that clean and crisp, despite that that was a key feature highlighted in the youtube clip.

It has more than enough gain on tap for whatever purposes you could possibly want, from blues, to rock to metal.

Looks awesome, congrats! Sits really nicely on top of the Jet City, too. Hadn't heard of Phaez before, they do some neat stuff by the looks of it. I look forward to some video clips wink Enjoy!

Amp was 565 CAD, so roughly £360.
I shipped it to Florida, before it came to me, (cheaper that way) so shipping through Fedex was included.

Really good value IMHO.

I'm going to build a head cab for it, (eventually big_smile), black tolex, wheat coloured grill cloth and silver corners.

Next part of the rig to add, is the new JCA cab, Ceriatone Bluesmaster and a tonebone headswitcher pedal.

Planning to run the JCA20 always on, and the SIBLY for EL84 leads and Ceriatone for cleans and 6V6 leads. The JCA will get one cab and the other two will switch between.

I would have liked to have 2 212s, so one amp for one speaker and allows the possibility to get a fourth amp (:D) but, I think this is better since I can barely turn it up as it is and after moving it from my room to the living room twice, its already annoying to have to move.
