I'll be following the race. The rules changes about repairs make reliability paramount. We'll see who is fast and doesn't break. Go Robby!

This rally is too cool although I didn't know it had moved to South America 4 years ago. Kinda shows how much I pay attention! Would love to do something like it tho'.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Argentine motorcyclist Jorge Martinez Boero has died after being involved in an accident on the first day of the Dakar Rally. I love motorcycle racing but it's still a tragedy when it happens. Whilst such brave people exist I'll still follow the sport. Thoughts go out to the family..

After 9 stages and multiple stage wins for Team Hummer and multiple technical inspections since the race started, Robby Gordon has been DQ from the Dakar Rally for a un-approved tire inflation system. The Team has been using the inflation system for years and this whole race. Robby is still racing while the DQ is under appeal.

NBC Sports Network (formerly VS) is covering the race.

I've been following the race and when this came up all I could think was Huh?!
Robbie has never been associated with tech cheating in his career that I know of.

Totally classic. Robby smokes the field today in tough dunes. After the stage finish, he calls over the team that called him a cheater, showed them the bolt in the hole, stated, "That is my secret. Twenty minutes I gained on you. Now you can KMA! lol
