Topic: NGD - Hamer Standard Custom in Transblack

Well, it's not a JB LP but I know the folks here would appreciate a quality instrument.

This arrived just before the Christmas holiday and features 3 Jason Lollar mini-humbuckers, custom wiring using a Tonestyler, and an ebony fretboard with special victory inlays.

I'll let the flame maple top speak for itself. smile

Nice! Like the eighties headstock!

Re: NGD - Hamer Standard Custom in Transblack

That is a great looking guitar. I have been looking at some Hamer Studios lately.  How is the quality and tone?

I would heartily recommend a Hamer in terms of quality and tone.  I have a couple of Hamer Daytonas from the '90s and a Monaco Elite and the fit/finish is second to none.  Couple that with the amazing tone and playability and you've got yourself a real winner.

Additionally given the second-hand market pricing of Hamers they offer tremendous value for the money.

This guitar is one of five done as a special run for Wilcutt Guitars.  I ordered it directly from them and while it's not part of Hamer's new custom shop (since being bought by Fender) this guitar would be considered new or at least new old stock.

So, I guess to sum up the guitar was built before the Fender buy-out as a special run of five guitars and I purchased it new, albeit a few years after it was made.
