True story.......
i just went to the local "Best Buy" to pick up a copy of "You & Me"
after searching the "Rock" & "Blues" sections with no luck
I asked if they had it in stock.
I was told & I quote....."Are you sure you have the right artist, because we show we have 3 copies of a recent release "You & Me" but it's by Joe Bossa Nova....and sure enough when i went to the "Latin" section
There was Joe.....mixed in with the "other latin" B's !!!
Classic.
I went to Barnes & Noble to check on availabilty. They did a search and it cam up Boss a nova too. Coincidence or a problem. Not sure.
Wow... did joe switch to latin blues or something now?

Once is funny. Twice at a place like Barnes & Noble is more that a coincidence.
Nothing against Latin music, but that is just SO WRONG!
Thanks for the story. I'll have to check out Best Buy tomorrow. Nothing at Circuit City or Wallmart on 6/07.
Even I have to say thats very funny.. Well if nothing else we have the name of my Latin splinter group already on the shelves ... Too funny

Well, at least it was Joe Bossa Nova instead of Joe Bag-o'-Donuts! The Barnes & Noble around here (in Boardman, OH), had a copy in on Tuesday--which we promptly went & got--but Best Buy and Circuit City said they did not. I wonder if they had it under the wrong name, too. I'll have to call and ask later.
Just got back from a fishing trip and FYE in Bemidji, Minnesota had a copy of "You & Me" on 6/6/06.
Went into our local Best Buy on the way home for lunch today. Saw copies of HTCT and BD, but I didn't see Y&M.....checked with the clerk and he said "Yes, we have plenty of those..." and proceeded to show me a full rack (12) copies on the shelf below the others. I shoulda seen them, but I guess I was mentally prepped for them to not have them. So I bought a few copies and the guy selling them was very interested. I gave him my 30 second JB commercial and he remarked that he'd check it out when he got paid.
Finished my business and headed out to the car and the guy followed me out to ask some more questions. So naturally, as I was buying these few copies to get the sales numbers up and to give away, I provided him a copy. He quickly ripped it open and jumped in his own car to crank it up. He was giving me a thumbs up as I was driving away.
Glad to see they had it, and always enjoyable to introduce someone to Joe.

I went to Strawberries and they had one copy. It was even on sale. Picked up some tickets for the Newport show there too.
I went to Barnes & Noble last night and Bonamassa was right where he belonged and right where I left him, in front ot Bon Govi!!
Since we are talking about record stores here, I'm not sure if anyone is from Virginia that participates on this board or a street team person. I had been searching on and off for a few years for the Traveling Wilbury's, which has been out of circulation. Someone told me about this 3 or 4 store chain in Virginia called Plan 9 Music, one is near Charlottsville and the one that got me the 2 CD's were in Harrisonburg. Super nice people to deal with and they didn't even charge me shipping. When I was about to hang up the phone with the salesperson Amy, I asked if they were getting in "You and Me" and Amy said, you are the second person to ask me that today...So, as far as hanging a poster/postcard/flyer, someone could stop by or call (540)434-9999.
