Re: The NFL - National Football League

Still breathing! Barely a pulse, but the thrashing of Baltimore gave the Charger faithful a glimmer of hope, and served notice to the teams down the stretch that healthy Lightning can still strike. Every single game that counted for the Bolts hopes went their way today. Whodathunkit! smile

Packers lose & Indianapolis wins.  Wow...who'd a thunk it?

Playing the Chiefs at KC is always a tough game no matter what the records are Mike, same thing with the Bears. And once the regular season is over, all of the records are erased. That's when the Real season begins.

Roy

I agree Roy.  I was actually pulling for the Pack to go all the way undefeated.  To my eyes, it still looks like Packers/Saints in the NFC championship.

I can see the Saints goin' all the way, but I knew the Pahhhkers were vulnerable. like I said before, they won't escape the playoffs because the don't have enough D. Time for packer fan to wipe his nose, you can only brown nose people for so long......am I right????

Never in the history of predictions have so many pickers picked so wrong. roll

Who woulda thunk it indeed!? In descending order of  shock value, I'd rank the surprises like this - GB losing, Indy winning, Texas losing, Skins winning, Ravens losing. The games at Oakland, Chicago, Denver, Arizona and Philly could all conceivably have gone the other way too. A weekend of major shocks all round. Brees and the Saints are starting to look awesomely good at just the right time.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I think I only lost 3 so far George wink  It was a weird day though, KC is the last team I thought GB might lose to. Picking with the line was a little tougher, think I went 7-4 with one push.

good job by SD Rick, I had that one nailed.

Crazy day for sure. Thought the Browns were gonna pull one out for all their fans that made the trek to AZ for the Browns Backers Annual Road Trip, but no way. A number of my friends are into Fantasy Leagues and are stressing out over what their players are doing these last few weeks of the season. I was watching with one of them whose got Aaron Rodgers @ QB and was up against a player with Drew Brees, bad day for Bobby. Headin' out shortly for MNF SF/Pitt, should be a good one if the Niners can get anything out of Frank Gore tonight, he's been pretty banged up and unproductive. Hang onto your seats, it's gonna be a wild finish!

Whoops, missed one pick but so far 9 winners in a tough week.
I pick the 49ers to win tonight. Have a good time JDawg.

Licking my chops Doc. How about  a split in the interest of sportsmanship? I'm lighting off the pit for some Christmas eats so I  might as well toss in a butt. You send me a bottle of that legendary sauce and I'll send you a nice smoked pork shoulder, unpulled and frozen so it will arrive in eating shape for your New Year's fest.

When the lights go out in the Citay.....and Ben's ankle's feelin' bum. Well the Niners will roll to the playoffs.....oh ooh oh, O-O-O!!!
Freakin' playoff atmosphere just at the sports bar I watched the game at, can't imagine what it was like @ the game. Still think Nawlins' is lookin' strong.

I hear ya Shreddy, they come outta the woodwork when they're winnin'. I run into Steeler fans every weekend and ask most of 'em if they're from there, but about half of 'em have never been in Pennsylvania let alone Pittsburgh. That's one damn big bandwagon! Watched the game with 2 buddies that worked in SF on Mon. and they said the town was crawlin' with Steeler fans. Candlestick Park was about half empty in the 4th qtr. when the Pitt fans threw in their "Terrible Towels" and went home. So far I haven't heard any media reports of things gettin' violent @ the game, must be the season to be mellow.

Just stating my observations Mod Man, after all if we were all Packer fans it'd be pretty boring around this topic. I'll always have a soft spot for Aaron Rodgers bein' a Cal alum and what could have been if the Niners had picked him instead of Alex Smith. If Smith had the accuracy of Rodgers that game last night would have been a blowout.

well then I'll state my observation JDawg, the comment was disrespectful and uncalled for. It can be very exciting around here without that kind of attack on one person pulling for one team. I enjoy your posts and think you owe an apology, if not so be it. Perhaps you are suffering from that dreaded disease Aaron Envy?

I'll just say that there's history there and leave it at that. I'm sure Jdawg knows when he's crossed a line.

Personally, I was rooting for the Pack to go all the way, but it wasn't to be. I was rooting for Timmy too, but the old fox Brady was too smart for him. What could the Steelers have done last night with a fit QB?

Woulda, shoulda, coulda...at least they have a QB, even if he was limping. I feel bad for Caleb Hanie, because he seems like a standup guy, but if the Steelers want him...

Lots of teams can turn on a dime. The Bears went from 7-3 to 7-7 in the blink of a broken thumb.
Whattya think the Super Bowl chances would be for the Pack if Rogers goes down, for the Saints without Brees, etc., etc.
