Great video Stu, very passionate, he meant every word of what he was singing!!  I know their lineup has changed.  It seems to me some family member is from New Jersey, came in contact with the hubby thru a work thingy...

Ok here goes the story. The first time a Moody got mentioned inside album packaging was in 1972 or so. My brother 14 at the time wrote a fan letter to GFR. It was after there second album came out. It said something about how he had heard Eric Burton's version of the song Inside Looking Out and how he thought Eric had butchered it.

Of course he didn't know Eric had written the song. A copy of his letter showed up on the poster that came with the double live album released not long after in a collage of pictures and fan mail. I guess they got a kick out of it. My brother is embaressed to this day whenever the story gets mentioned.

So if you have the poster from the album in your collection and it says Craig Moody OKC. That would be my bro.

Grand Funk Railroad was the very first album that I bought along with Zephyr. For those of you who don't know who Zephyr was, Tommy Bolin was their lead guitar player before he went solo. I still have all my albums, probably around 800 or so, and I still play them when I get the chance. I still collect them when I run across something that I don't have. I think that a lot of the albums I have sound better than the CD's that were remastered into a digital format.

I haven't been on youtube very much because the computer at my house is an antique. I am going to buy a new one this year if I can swing it because I know there's a lot of stuff out there that I'm missing.

I bought the second GFR album and Zephyr at the same time too.  Around that time I also bought Led Zep II and Yes Fragile. They weren't the first albums I bought. The first album I actually bought was a Beatles album Something New in the second grade.

Having an older brother mentioned above allowed me to sneak in and borrow his. Until I got tired of getting my but kicked when i got caught.

LOL my first two records were VanHalen 5150 and Ozzy Osbourne Ultimate Sin....that shows my age a little too much...heh heh.  My first two CD's were Queen Greatest Hits and Soundgarden Badmotorfinger. Don't ask about cassette tapes

I caught Zephyr as an opening act at the Fillmore West. Don't even remember who else was there that night, but those guys were etched in my mind. Tommy on lead and Candy Givens on vocals, I thought she was the second coming of Janis. Not bad for a band out of Boulder, Co. I still crank up Suns A-Risin' every once in awhile. It was one of those encounters where I went out and tracked down that album the very next day.
