They've been described as a rock'n'roll defibrillator and I agree. Here's some vids (if anyone's got the time) to see if you like 'em too.

Darned good band! Takes me right back to the R&R days. Great singer and the sound and songs are nice. Good find Curby.

They are at High Voltage on the Saturday. Have been looking forward to seeing them since I heard them on Planet Rock.

My band played with them last month when they were over here for the HMV Next Big Thing festival. They were great, and the guitarist showed me his very handy-looking ring-slide... (http://www.eaglemusicshop.com/details1. … -slide.htm if you're interested!)
They were pretty good, definitely worth checking out. Bought their album, it's got some great tunes on it.
You need to be quick !!!!

Also supporting Black Stone Cherry in the UK in next year.
They're good...but I don't here any classic songs or any of the hooks of BCC for instance. He has a great voice though.
Pressure and Time would be better if they hadn't lifted that riff too.

I love 'em...and I actually think that riff sounds better in Pressure & Time than it ever did in Out On The Tiles (which is still a brilliant song by the way)....yes, I doubt many of their songs will become classics too but they're a refreshing, very old-school alternative to a lot of modern rock groups around at the moment in my humble opinion

Oh, missed this one! Too late!
They did a 25 minute acoustic set at St Pancras and raised money for charity by collecting donations. Nambucca in Holloway Road was their end of season party but they are playing at a record company do in London tonight and my sister has been invited. Lucky lass!!
2012 is going to be a big year for them and Jay Buchanan (singer) has said that they would like to release 2 albums next year!

Just saw Rival Sons last night at a small club in Milwaukee. This is one of the best live rock n roll bands I have ever seen (and I've been going to see live music for about 40 years now). I felt like I just saw Zeppelin at a small club. Whole band is tight including the new bassist, The guitar is terrific and the singer is like Jim Morrison with Robert Plant's voice. I am still feeling blown away this morning.
very similar feelings to me Reverend, I thought the very same things after seeing them earlier in the year. - Yes, it has been done before, it is nothing new but there is still a hell of a lot of raw (almost) feral energy in there, - that so many bands just cannot get across in a live show.

YEP......I know the feeling after seeing them at a small club in San Fran a while back.
Good to hear the new bassist fits in.
Recording a new album in Nashville. Seems to be "thee" place to record nowadays.
Maybe there goes the Nashville equal country thing?
Also I'm a big Rival Sons fan now thanks to the forum here!
I find it a bit odd seeing a post of a band I reported a long time ago yet these are the guys I'm listening to during the lowest point in my life. Tripsy sent me this video shortly after my wife's passing and it more than speaks to me. The words to the song could've been ripped outta my heart and they ring so, so true. In my grief I find comfort in the message and on top of that it is a damn fine song. I included it in the cd of music played at the funeral. It was the last song and I hope she heard it in heaven. I will be taking a break from the forum for a while, at least until I get myself back to some semblance of new normal.
If you haven't heard this then listen my friends to a good one.
