Richie of course possesses that rare combination of awesome geetar and vocal chops that only a very very few REALLY possess... You can count em on one hand, Joe and Richie makes two.......
Never heard him before either Cathy. Here is video of him.

OK Boys, I need you too help me old school. Youtube is out for my dsl??? End of line and all that. (Again, Happy to live in the woods). But, I trust you, so what should I buy? Cathy
I was able to get to the web site and order the CD "Bi-polar Blues". Thanks! Cathy
He's got a new CD out, too. I think it's called "Black". Incredible player. His fret hand is awesome! He replaced Paul Gilbert in Mr. Big, and was in Poison for a short time. He also has a signature model Fender Tele, and a signature model Cornford amp.

I've been a Kotzen fan for a long time, first heard of him when he was about 17 in the 80's playing Satriani-type shred metal. I didn't think he was that great in Mr. Big (hard to beat Paul Gilbert) and Poison? Yuck! My favorite is "Richie Kotzen's Fever Dream" which is a hard-rockin' slamfest which has one of the coolest slow blues guitar solos I'd ever heard (until Joe and Blues Deluxe, Heartaches, Reconsider Baby, So Many Roads) on a song called "Things Remembered Never Die" (I think....damned OldTimer's). I should probably try and work that song up :-)

great player, although sometimes a bit too "shred-y" for me. he is huge in japan, they love him there...no idea why not as big here.
Yes I do that's why I said yes!

Carl you express most of my thoughts precisely...This guy plays the blues, CAN shred, and isn't afraid of fusion in the maximum...I really like the Break It All Down CD-just an awesome combination of what MikeB sez, the vocal and geetar chops, and might I add (Re: both he & Joe, cuz it's twuu), great songwriting craft...It's a soulful excursion (Break It All Down)
Rock On & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
