Has Joe played a Telecaster at some point? What is the opinion on those in general?
I just picked up my first Tele a couple of months ago and ever since i'm in love with it.

Enjoy your new guitar,

I think Joe still has that Esquire he used in the ANDY dvd. I remember a couple years ago he bought a 53 Tele that he said reminds him of his mentors Tele, the late great Danny Gatton.
I like Tele's. They're a very versatile guitar. With the right one you can cover a lot of ground.

He does still have it Spider. He played it at the first Spud gig. Did some chickenpicken on it too.
Teles rock. I wish Joe played them more often. I'm spoiled by the early years.
I saw a prototype Esquire on youtube. It was red with a primitive neck pickup in the wrong place.
You could see how so little has changed aesthetically. Build-wise, it's still the sturdiest design I've ever seen. To quote Brad Paisley, it's a baseball bat and a cutting board with some strings.

Yes, they are. I got myself a cheap Squier Affinity, but i am really surprised how it sounds and how comfortable it is to play... now I am eyeing for a Classic Vibe 50's at some point if the cash is there
My Les Paul has been in the case ever since i got the tele and i am rarely picking it up at the moment.
