EVM is the best speaker out there…heavy, though.

Very heavy. I have a 2x12 cab, and while I was optimistic and had "it's worth the tone" attitude, I've since been looking to finding excuses to not carry it out of the basement... I need roadies!

That is the way I'm leaning so far based on how clear the recording of it appeared compared to the others.

Tired of 2x12's I went 1x15 and now have two different cabs, one for gigs and another for home. The home one is an Emminence Commonwealth and I cannot say enough good things about these. For live work I use a Emminence Big Ben (maybe half the weight of the commonwealth). If you play single coils, mini HB's, or P90's I strongly recommend 1x15.
Don't underestimate the sound of 10" speakers. Some of the coolest Fenders rock with those bad boys.

I agree, but would you not suggest at least two and definitely open back for 10's?
Yes, at least two 10" and an open back cab.
