Topic: Memphis Here We Come

Anybody out there been to Memphis recently? Looking for any tips on cool places to visit and cool things to do besides the obvious (We are going to Graceland, Graceland, goin' to Graceland and Beale St. of course). I do know that Clarksdale Miss. (Crossroads) is about an hour south so that will HAVE to happen.
  We (my wife and 2 kids 13 & 15) are taking my mother in law (dont worry she is cool) to Graceland, she is a huge Elvis fan and has always talked about going there.

Try the visiting center, it is down from BealeSt. where the mississippi river is.  It has a huge statue of Elvis in the front lawn. The people in there are great, nice southern hospitality. They have ALL the info you need. Be careful, get gas before it gets dark I got lost driving around. The tank was near dry, I had to gas up in a area that was located in a BAD part of town. My poor wife was scared, I've been around worst though.

make sure to visit the STAX Museum of American Soul Music, The Rock & Soul Museum, The Civil Rights Museum, and the Gibson Guitar Factory.  Great eats include Rendezvous and Corky's for BBQ and Gus's for Fried Chicken Spicy Style!
