To me George Harrison was more worthy of being on the list based on his technical guitar skills.

good call Robin, - and today being the 10th anniversary of his sad death. I have recently ordered "All Things Must Pass", his first solo album he did after The Beatles.

I agree with Joe Walsh being in there for my 2 cents, - saw The eagles on their suppose- ed last tour many years ago and though that JW was not only the ONLY interesting entertainer up on stage but also a pretty good guitarist, - love some of his solo work.

unless I missed him Warren Haynes is not even in there, - and I think he was #26 last time they did one of these lists. And where is Albert Lee?

Please don't shoot me down guys but the way I read a lot of the names on that list is that they were/are influencers rather than brilliant technical guitarists, - not saying that Joe is not an influencer or not capable of being but I think that he such a current blues/rock guitarist it is too early for people to look at his name with any sympathy, - and some of those names do look to have a sympathy vote.

The likes of Johnny Ramone, Keith Richards, Neil and Angus Young correct me if I am wrong but the way that they play/played was very simple but they make/made some great songs, - hence they have all claimed an important stake in rock history

Unless you're John Mayer.

What kind of a sensible human, with a grasp of the real world, reads Rolling Stone?

That´s all I have to say to that topic. smile

Looks like it`s just gathered too much moss.

Re: You couldn't make it up

looks like Joe is not happy about more than Rolling Stone: " 12 records... best selling blues artist of the decade.. 0 Grammy nominations and 0 Blues music awards.. Yet I sell out 2500 t0 5000 seat venues.. I am so disappointed that none of my 9 consecutive #1 records get any freaking attention at all.. Rejected isn't strong enough of a word to describe the way I feel yet again.. 12 years in a f***ing row.. You think I think one of my records deserves a nomination.. ????" - From facebook this AM.

Have to say I would be worried if Joe was nominated here given the rest of the field!

Interesting piece on it:

It REALLY is the industry that is wrong, Mike Scott of The Waterboys wrote a great song about it "Dumbing Down The World". I think Joe needs to write something about it perhaps?

edit - looks like the f word crept in again since the revamp yesterday....
