We were there. What a show! My first time seeing Tal with the band. The guy is a beast on those drums. I just didn't want it to end. Ken took lots of good pics. We will post them later. My computer battery is about to die and I forgot the cord so more to come later.
Off to Frenchys. ...mmmmmm Beach Soup
My wife and I were celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary. What a night...
It started with a Meet and Greet at 4:30....a great dinner at Bonefish....followed by the 2 hour and 15 minute Joe B chaser to finish up the night!
I've seen Joe too many times to count but this was the first time I had the opportunity to meet him.
The Meet and Greet was a quick pass through. I wish I had a few more minutes to ask a couple of questions and just kind of savor the moment (who wouldn't want that right)...but my Mom raised me to be respectful of others time.
Before I walked into the room I saw him sneak a peak at my guitar as he was with some other folks ahead of us... (We were told to have all items out and ready for him to sign)... I was nervous....what if I forget my lines?...
Before I could say hello, he said, "Is that an R9?"....and off we went. My wife and I both shook his hand and I handed him my guitar and he kindly signed the pick-guard. I showed him my "Beauty of the Burst" book and expressed my disappointment that neither of his 59's were listed... He was quick to point out the original owner in the back of the book who happened to be pictured with one of the guitars he now owns. Here are a few photos...
My wife and I presented him with a gift of wine and sugar free red bull ....a winning combination right? He was very gracious and thankful. I made a point to show him that my daughter, Brooke, had decorated one of the bottles for him. I wish I had had an opportunity to show him this picture...maybe he'll see it below. She knows Joe's music but wasn't sure what his guitar of choice was so she actually did some research on the internet before deciding to draw a gold les paul on the bottle. I was beaming when I saw it. What is even funnier is that she signed the bottom and numbered it 1 of 1.
Know that as I write this I have a big smile on my face. It was surreal. Even though it was over in the span of about 60 seconds, it is something I'll remember always.
Yeah, Yeah, I'm a grown man....and Yeah I know Joe is flesh and blood like the rest of us....but damn that was cool.

Set List?
Sorry.. Not A set list type of guy.
I will say that to me, this was not as good of a show as last time I saw Joe.
This show was a lot more "rockin" type & not enough slower "blues" type for me.
Still great playing & good show though !

My wife and I took our 24 yr old son (flew in from N.C.) to his first JB experience. We had 13th row dead center seats. The sound was very good and the band sounded great. Ricks sound was a little lost in the mix early but that was corrected later.
When the show was over, I asked my son what he thought of the show. His response: Wow. That's it...he couldn't find the words to describe what he just saw. (until later).
Next up, BCC (hopefully).

Thanks...No Song of Yesterday?...
No Song of Yesterday...it looks like Blues Deluxe and SOY are occasionally being swapped at different shows. I was looking forward to hearing SOY live.
