Re: The NFL - National Football League

Missed this weekend. Out camping in the desert with family. I see the Bolts lost as I expected. Injuries have taken a serious toll and with no experienced offensive line, and a defensive secondary full of holes, wins are not going to happen. Barring miracles, they're done for the year.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

From what I saw in the highlights SD's biggest problem is your QB throwing to the other team in the end zone. Maybe the Chargers might want to trade up for the 1st pick. Norv Turner is one of the "good guys" around the league and a brilliant "O" coordinator, but when he's the head guy it just doesn't happen. WHY?????

We're asking the same questions. Norv may be a good guy, but he is a lousy head. Our qb's lack of red zone effectiveness and sudden proclivity to throw to the other team is probably related to the missing second and a half in the pocket. He's not a scrambler.   hmm

That was an easy watch! Suddenly, the Fins are on fire. I can't believe that the Eagles prevented me from having a clean prediction sweep of yesterday's games.  sad

The Monday morning quarterback in me always wonders how much money was lost in Vegas on a game like last night when the Giants lost to the Eagles!!  Against all odds, since the Eagles stepped on the Giants turf on life support.   big_smile  I work with 2 Giant fans so its way easier to go to work this week!

Speaking of done for the year...it appears that the Bolts may have ended Jay Cutler's (and perhaps the Bears) season...or the regular season anyway. Broken thumb on his throwing hand, the result of making a tackle after throwing his lone interception of the game (which was not Jay's fault...the receiver slipped on his cut).
Our season is now tied directly to Caleb Hanie (or Mr. Hanie for any Petticoat Junction fans).

I'm hopin' the Bears give Matt Guitterez a call to fill the back up spot @ QB, he's been in and out of their camp the past 2 years and knows the system.

Get ready for the "Harbowl" Thur. night in Baltimore as the Harbaugh siblings square off against each other for the first time in their NFL coaching careers. The Niners are on fire, but Modell's team will be a good game to gauge just how hot they are. Don't OD on tryptophan and stuffing, this should be a good one!

very funny Bill, but NOT the injury. That is devastating to all bears fans I know, they had a good season going. Caleb will need to put on a good "sell" job to all, I don't know much about him. Mr Haney, also popular on the show Green Acres where he tried to sell anything to make a buck, was Pat Buttram from down south of Montgomery,AL. He was a distant 2nd or 3rd cousin on my mom's side. Here's hoping that Caleb gives da bears something to smile about, and nothing to laugh at.

the Fish used to be my team, I have none now although waffling with Saints and Falcons. GO FISH on Thursday, would love to see them upset the Cowboys.

This 49er Faithful Fan sure HOPES they are good as the record, but the Ravens are NO team to trifle with or write off at any time.  This one should be a tough one, someone will gain the upper hand, and as much as I hope and won't deny it is possible San Francisco can have smoked Raven dinners for Thanksgiving, my gut says the Ravens (and I do like the Ravens too, but 49ers #1 always) might peck and pick the 49ers to the bone... Best match up for the day IMO!  GO Niners!!!!!!

It's such a shame that this is the late game, because a 2:20 am k/o just too late for me. I'd love to be watching this. Cathy will be at the in-laws, who are all serious Ravens people, for the traditional face-stuffing extravaganza, so she'll be watching. I think it'll be very close if the right Ravens turn up. If either team has an off-day it'll be curtains. I actually expect a close, quality game, and of course, I hope that the Ravens take it.  tongue

I'll be watching the Packers game live and hoping that they stay unbeaten. Who knows if the Fins are revitalized enough to take the Cowboys, who should have lost to the Skins last weekend - and would have lost on the day to just about anyone else. So, I'll certainly hope the Fins can do it, if for no other reason than one more win would put them 'behind' the Skins in the SFL stakes.  big_smile

The "Harbowl", that's a great name.

Hopefully the Lion's crowd can really, really roar and root them on to Victory!
