does anyone have any knowledge of these heads as I'm really interested in getting one to pair up with my marshall dsl with ev12s in ??
joes used these before i really liked the sound he got from them its quite different to what his sound is now but to get that sound you need a dumble style amp and i don't have $5000 for the two rock or van weelden!! would be cool to see what joes thinks before i spend!!

I tried the 18w superdrive yesterday and it has the same pre-amp as the 80 and 30 cool sounding amp but IMO a very marshall type sounding amp , may be too close to your DSL
if you want the dumble thing Ceriatone HRM Overtones are good value .
I personally think that the SD 80 is nothing like a Marshall. The lower wattage ones may be, but the SD80 is really a beast of its own. It can do some Marshally things, but it really is more versatile. I think of it as a "Fender on steroids with a completely different and more powerful EQ curve and gain to boot". I used to be a Budda man myself, and miss those JB tones. Highly recommend the SD80 and you will likely want to sell your DSL.

Agreed, from a former sd30 and current sd45 owner. The sd80 like most of the older budda's (can't speak for the newer ones) can do the fender, and the modified marshall. The 6l6s will tend to do the fendery/dumbly side better than the rest, but macg1 is right. You probably won't need the dsl after comparing it with the 80... I also own a Carol Ann, but if I'm going to bring one simple amp along to cover all bases...it's the Budda.

the one from back in the day when he still played Goldie live (2006 I think)? I only ever see a Marshall Bluesbreaker combo and something behind it (maybe a spare?). There may be something to the left of it too which could be a Budda. I am not 100% and input will be great!

Thanks guys, I might give it a shot , I point is that i want to pair up my Marshall with a simuler amp , I looked at joes bcc rig with 2 dsls which sounded cool but when you listen to the budda and Marshall in joes Styles and techniques DVD they both sound great together , you can hear the full bottom ended marshall and the articulation from the budda!! I thinks it's a winner!!

sure I know what you mean and it will sound great. Though I totally see the merit on using a multi-amp rig, unless some day we make it to the point where others are carrying my stuff, I am sticking with one amp Watching the whole rockpalast video, I thnk I saw a Budda to the left of the Marshall combo. No sure which if that wast eh 45 or the 80. Knowing JB, likely the 80.
