Bernie Marsden's burst....is it the lost Beano??

I read article on Bernie's burst in the guitarist '100 greatest blues guitarist' where they claimed Clapton's stolen burst was eventually sold to Bernie, and Bernie himself doesn't give much away or doesn't deny it either!! Was wondering if any of you have heard of this tale, and if it is true Joe can add another feather to his cap as he has played it!
