Twinkleland>>chime in on tone settings?

Hi Ron,Congratulations with you amp.Normally I would not repond on this forum, but being one of a few Twinkleland players (for I guess 5 years now), I think I should repond. But it will be a 'fague' answer.First of all, it took me almost 1,5 year and probably 40 gigs further to get a grip on what a setting on a Twinkleland does in different circumstances. We mostly play without a PA so that is a key factor and I switch channels (what Joe for instance does not). Second. I really believe that an amp from this quality is an instrument of it's own. That of course counts for the whole signal chain which  it is part of.  Conclusion: you have to play a lot and experiment an awfall lot yourself with the settings. An amp in this category deserves this.But tip 1 I have for you. To get a nice leadtone ( the 'second channel

I'm back. I'm sorry that a big part of my tips went gone. The biggest trick in my opinion is to balance between the volume levels: volume, level, ratio and master (all this without the Twinklelator). To get a nice leadtone ( the 'second channel if you will) you have to tweak with the first volume level (of the first stage). This is a bit of a magic button in my opinion. I put this volume in general one level or above the ratio level. In my case (gig level: volume is between 6-6,5 , ratio is between 5-5,5 and master is on 7.  Hot switch is on (deep and bright switch are off). I variate with the level knob between 6 and 8. Every Twinkleland will be respond a bit different of course but this is probably a good starting point.

Tip 2: before I played the Twinkle I have played Custom Audio and Bogner amps. Mostly in a wet/dry/wet configuration. I really had to learn play with a Twinkle but got addicted to the massive honest tone which needs less and less coloration. So I use less and less effects. One tip a would like to pass on to you, I have got from Peter van Weelden. Approach your guitar and Twinkle combination more like you would play a good acoustic guitar. So in my case I had to learn to put less energy in my right hand. Play extremely more dynamic if that makes any sense to you?!. Players who come from a more 'traditionally' Fender type of playing in stead of rock and high gainisch background will need probably less  adaption.

Tip 3: ENJOY and believe me: electric guitar players are the most difficult musicians when it comes to judging value for money. I am one myself haha. But of course a Twinkle is expensive but compare it to a good acoustic guitar and you laugh about it. But we guitarist are not used to invest this type of money. But with a Twinkle you buy an instrument and not an amp. In my modest opinion: for the rest of your live ...you will not need anything else when it comes to a more than perfect sounding 'hot boosted'  Fender type of amp (of their best road proof quality). Yeh maybe your second Twinkle hahaha. O.. and a third tip. Peter will launch a 4 channel amp in the future where he combines Twinkle-ich tones with the best of of the British. Not Point-to-Point wired but still made in Europe and for a broader audience (for what that means anyway but those are my words). I have played and heard parts of the configurations and it is again a 'Van Weelden blowing loud experience....
