Topic: Oli Brown

Some of you may have heard that Oli recently took a tumble while in New Zealand and has injured his hip. In case you haven't seen the comments on Facebook, Graham has confirmed that Oli will be back in the UK in time for the start of his April - May UK tour commencing with the sold out gig in Norwich on 1st April. Oli says he will be playing a full set even if he has to sit through part of it. The show must go on........  cool

I'm sure you'll all want to join me in wishing Oli a speedy recovery.

Make sure you catch Oli at one of these shows.

Tickets not on sale until 4 November though.

Re: Oli Brown

Oli gave an assured performance supporting John Mayall last night and impressed the "elderly" seated audience. He had a 45 minute set and played a new track "Devil in Me" from the 3rd album due out next year. However, he didn't get much of a response when he said he would be at the Lemon Tree in April, possibly because it's a standing venue and the oldies like their seats.

John Mayall was on top form and his band have a great pedigree - Rocky Athas on guitar, Greg Rzab on bass and Jay Davenport on drums. They did 2 Otis Rush songs that are perfect for Joe to cover "All Your Love" from the Beano album and "Ain't nothin to do with love" - when John plays the harmonica at the end I can hear Joe's blistering guitar. They took Oli on for the encore of Freddie King's "Hideaway" and I had to laugh when John got down on his knees and did a PetetheCabby moment when Rocky and Oli shared a guitar solo.

A wonderful evening of blues music.

Re: Oli Brown

Having seen Oli 4 or 5 times already this year I decided to sit this tour out. However, he's hitting the road next April, hopefully  with the new album and has Dana Fuchs supporting.

Tis true George - I heard a whisper last month, but now it's on Oli's website.

I was at Dana's UK debut in July at Maryport and I have to say I don't envy Oli following Dana on stage.......... yikes
