Topic: Radio airplay

I subscribe to Google Alerts and this showed up this morning. http://www.wccc.com/musiclog.php?ID=246642
It is a radio log of what is playing from a rock station in CT. Not sure if it is a blues program or some other special programming during that time slot but if you go to the contact page there is a link to request songs during the 6:00 o'clock hour. Might help to stuff the ballot box so to speak.

Connmark do you know anything about this station?

Re: Radio airplay

Jim,  that is the "Beef Stew" show, played each Sunday from 6pm-midnight. (eastern)
He is a huge Joe fan  since the beginning and plays atleast one Joe tune every show.
When Joe plays local - he has interview and provides show tickets.

The show is also availble each week on your computer - there is a link so you can join in.

Here is "Beef Stew" direct link.     <http://www.megablues.com/>

Sign up for weekly preview of show interviews and such.

Talked to him about playing a complete live show, the idea was well received.
Maybe Joe Beacon can provide a great show,- then, we as JB fans can request more.
How cool would that be, a Sunday night show while Joe is across the pond.

Jim, you think that would be OK to play?

Re: Radio airplay

I'll find out.

Re: Radio airplay

I heard a song on Bluesville XM JBonamassa acoustic song that I've never heard. I wish I could remember the name of it.

Re: Radio airplay

Hey Jim  and all fellow fans -

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this on the forum but 92.5 the classic rock station in Dallas for the past 20 years recently changed their format and made national news for it.  They are the first FM station to compete with satellite radio by not playing commercials anymore.  They usually have a corporate sponsor for the hour (or 2) and the djs just mention them once or twice an hour.  They play an eclectic mix of songs now.

The exciting part of this new format is - I've heard Joe on that station about six times in the last two weeks.  I only listen in the morning so I'm by no means listening full time.  The dj once said something like 'I've got a great guitar player coming up.  Remember his name - it's Joe Bonamassa and wait until you hear him play.'
That was so great and I saw the name Bonamassa scroll across the radio in my car for the first time. I sent the station an e-mail thanking them for playing so much Joe and told them I appreciated them playing Joe between Stevie Ray Vaughan and ZZ Top - right where he belongs!

LOVIN IT!

Susan

Jim, that station has been brought up here before wccc

heard a jersey station this morning that was cool - played new and old rock - sorta what i am looking for and what i think joe's music would fit in well with but its still probably based on corporate playlists i guess. same frequency as the classic rock station - on the radio here at work could get the jersey station  100.7 wzxl or soemthing- and not the local one wzba till about 10 am

and nic - i wonder if it was one of those bonus tunes from Blues Deluxe - Revenge of the ten Gallon hat was one and i have forgotten the other - revenge later released on HTCT
wish we could still get to those bonus tracks

It's On You is the name of the other bonus track Jane. What Nic could be refering to is something off the new album sent out in advance of release.

Re: Radio airplay

Just read a short blurb in Rolling Stone about the return of "rock" radio.  Seems there's this new gadget called "Porable People Meter" that records every station a listener hears even at places like grocery stores. So far the data has revealed that rock stations are more popular than thought...K-Rock in NY back from "talk" format, Philly switched from Latin to alt-rock(104.5)...We have always said Joe is a blues ROCKER, now we need to drive it home...

hmm, I am sort of thinking that maybe it could be Dirt in My Pocket - for some reason i have a feeling that may be something like Tamp em up Solid but its purely guess

anyway thanks for the name of that tune, Its on you, i can't even remember what it sounds like now sad

aw c'mon I know Tamp em up Solid

Dirt in My Pocket is a tune I don't have. That could be it....but I want to say its not. I want to say the title of the song had was M(something). Guessing would just embarrass myself.

Cathy thats the kind of news I like to hear. Its sorta like a no-brainer thing for me but you get fed the same line that i get the feeling someone simply made up in some board room somewhere. very encouraging.

NPB, i meant to say that in my head I imagine the new song, Dirt in my Pocket might sound like tamp em up solid, just a guess, not that i thoguht you may have heard Tamp em up and not know it.
here's two recent articles others have shared links to here
