Re: Joe's show on Planet rock
I'm thinking that he probably pre-records some shows in advance. He's probably not live when we hear some of the shows.

...me thinks your probably right Mr Deluxe!
Great show as is usual, Texas themed. Good to hear Johnny Winter again.
There's still time to listen to the show from 5th November. It's available until next week's show here.
Here's what Joe played.
1. You Shook Me – Jeff Beck (Joe interrupted Jeff’s guitar being sick at the end – read the Truth liner notes )
2. Aqualung – Jethro Tull
3. Checkin’ In On My Baby – Otis Rush (Joe mentions playing So Many Roads every night. I don’t think I’ve heard Joe play SMR since 2010 – he must play to himself. )
4. Old Brown Shoe – Gary Brooker from the Concert For George concert at the RAH
5. Children of The Sea - Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio
6. Woman – Free
7. I Don’t Want to Discuss It – Delaney & Bonnie & Friends (EC was on fire as were the rest of this amazing band)
8. Nothing Can Keep Me From You – Eric Johnson (Joe says EJ has been a major influence on his playing – check him out if you don’t know his material, he’s a fantastic player)
9. Nothing – Ian Moore
10. Still Alive and Well – Johnny Winter
11. Run Silent, Run Deep – Peter Wolf
If you missed Joe's show last Sunday, here's what he played:
1. People Get Ready – Jeff Beck with Rod the Mod
2. Don’t know what this song was other than being a “Deep Song” – Joe? – Robin Trower
3. Axeman – Robbie Robertson feat. Tom Morello
4. Crawling Up The Hill – John Mayall
5. Face Forwards Son – Beth Hart
6. Talkin’ Woman (Live in Japan) – Albert Collins
7. Peg – Steely Dan (with Larry Carlton)
8. Just Like a Woman – Bob Dylan
9. Mandolin Wind – Rod Stewart
10. Angle Grinder Blues – Jools Holland
11. Cry Love – John Hiatt
12. Let The Good Times Roll – BB King & Bobby Bland
You can still listen to Joe’s show until Sunday, 27th November here.
I'm glad he played Mandolin Wind. That's a great song that never gets played.

That's a sweet, sweet playlist again! Joe's show reminds me of my own radio show...wayback............
Rock FOR All Plan It's. Keep the Faith,
Rocket
Where else are you gonna hear Jimi Hendrix, Montrose, The Black Keys, & BB King all on the same station? Joe plays whatever he feels like playing. That's how all DJs should do it.

That is the only way TO DO it!
Listen most weeks and rarely does the playlist disappoint. A great selection, pity Dust Bowl had been shortened at the end, but I agree. Radio would be far more entertaining and enjoyable if DJ's were allowed this option.
I've talked to some people who say they prefer to hear the hit songs, but to me there's plenty of hits to avoid playing the same songs all the time. Who wants to hear Tom Sawyer by Rush all the time? Or maybe All Right Now? Not me. I want to hear Witch Hunt & Catch A Train.

That's why I enjoy the Planet Rock request show Satudays and Sundays 4hrs each day usually of variety
This weeks playlist, yet again a good spread
Checkin' On My Baby, Otis Rush
Chocolate Jesus, Beth Hart
Don't Keep Me Wondering, Buddy Miles
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, Robert Cray
Ice Cream, Wynton Marsalis
Desperation, Humble Pie
Knocking At Your Back Door, Deep Purple
Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody's Home, Albert King
Mighty Rearranger, Robert Plant
Do Re Mi, Ry Cooder
Jeff's boogie, Jeff Beck
Nessun Dorma, Jeff Beck
I enjoyed hearing Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark & Nessun Dorma. Both great songs!!
Awesome show tonight. Thanks Joe, those last three live tracks were straight from my player's most frequently played tracks. ABB, EC and Mule are my idea of heaven, together with your playing, of course.
Phil
I enjoyed hearing Guinnevere, Goin' Down To Mexico, and the live version of Badge. These shows are better than anything on mainstream radio!!
