I used a dremmel to carve enough space for the wire to come out for a 1Spot power source. Still not sure if I like the JB FuzzFace, and it hasn't cracked into my normal rotation either.  hmm

I haven't played it yet. I'll let you know how it sounds, but I'm running it with an already gainey amp (going for the amp blowing up sound), so I'm sure I'll be happy with it. I'll play with the sag to adjust to taste... cool

That's a neat job you've done there.  You know what, I'm not so sure it would devalue the pedal to have the original plate modified with a notch if the job is done as neat as you've done it.  I think I'll just go ahead and do it!

Incidentally I gigged the JBFF for the 1st time with the Virtual Battery installed this evening.  Lovely, lovely break-up on the tone - so pleased with the result.  Hope you're similarly happy with the other solution.

Well $12 is not gonna break the bank I guess!  I tried doing a search for a spare plate in the UK and came up with zilch.  The guys you bought yours from want $10 for the cheapest international shipping.  As I say, I think I'll take my chances with the original plate! lol  wink

You know whats worse then no ac adapter?  Trying to find the damn screw hole on the cast piece with that long bolt you put through the bottom of that plate.  Couldn't Dunlop make battery compartments with a door on it?

The funny thing is, the screw that came with the replacement bottom is no trouble at all. I think the original is just a tiny bit too short!

I quit using my fuzz face a long time ago for the very reason I hated changing the battery!  For that matter why does Donlop use screws and plates to cover their batteries and not put a access door on their pedals!  I hate that! I'm very much an ease of use guitar player and if I have to take a couple of tools with me to a gig its going to take more a bunch of time to replace.  No problem with a power source but 9 volt battery compartments are the way to go!  At least the new Cry Baby pedals these day has a battery access on the back of it so you don't have to remove 4 screws to get to the battery.
