I used to live in a small Essex town called Burnham On Crouch...part of 'The Essex Delta' where if you stand in a bar on any night and throw a stone you've got a 90% chance of hitting a guitarist. There was/is an annual music festival organised by the much respected Mr Tim Aves of our very own Rocking Armadillos (great band...check 'em out on-line). One year Tim arranged for The Hoax to headline the weekend and there I stood, in a small field with about 600 others, 10 feet away from the band, no stage, pure blues!!!! I've got them on video in concert around here somewhere. Shame they split.

just watching the dvd now...WOW  amazing stuff, and yes, great solos that differ from the cds.  i love it.  coltman is an amazing singer, perfect voice for blues rock.  the acoustic cut...amazing.  what a guy giving this stuff away to people who otherwise have no of getting it.  you are a king among men.

What's the deal? Were these guys popular on the East coast at one time? I only heard about them here on the forum. I have Live Forever & David sent me some wicked DVD stuff, But why didn't they hit the left coast?????

I have a dvd of The Daveys and Hugh playing in Omaha for Mato's birthday. Along with Double Trouble, Duarte, Melvin Taylor. One of my all time favorites.  Is Omaha considered the left coast? Well mid west anyway.

Wanted to keep this thread going because I am soo impressed by this band. I only have the live CD but I keep playing it! I love the way it sounds like a Texas band and then .."a fist full of dough-lers" so British! They were before their time..PITY

Try www.gemm.com,if you can't find it here you won't find it anywhere. This is the place for all hard to find music. I just checked the site,there is 1 cd used very expensive $67 must be out of print for that price!!!

Oh, Goody, goody!!! Got my DVD's from Jeff, THANK YOU!! I'll be playing them shortly. And THANK YOU  to our friend gsj, who's going to hook me up with "Humdinger"..Im so thankful to you all! It's like Joe..You can't adequately thank the person that turned you on to him..yet..How did I miss so much good music? Got an alert from e-bay re 3 Hoax CD'c..They are all Hoax Live Forever..1 says Rory Gallager/JWinter 1=SRV/Clapton and 1 Walter Trout/Robin Trower...Are these people on the CD's??? Sounds dumb, I know, but could be tributes.....
