Topic: Pittsburgh 6-14-07 setlist

Hi all,
Good to see everyone at the show last night. Janet and I got there VERY early, and proceeded to grab a couple of chairs in the front row. To kill some time, we got a few things to eat at the food booths, and even attepted to play some cards that she brought. After sitting there for about an hour, I noticed this lost soul wandering by himself at the food booths. IT WAS JOE. Well, I had to go over and say hey. I tried not to bother the guy too much. Just thanked him for coming to Pittsburgh, told him I could't wait to hear him do One Of These Days, mentioned the weather looking good, and asked if he minded if I could video some of the show (he said sure), That was about it. A handshake and a smile and I went back to my chair. At about 5, they all came on stage for the sound check. They all noodled around awhile, then settled in and ran through Sloe Gin (first time I heard it), Joe did some acoustic and blew a cable, then they did the Genesis song Squonk. We both thought the band sounded great.
The show itself started just about 7:30 and went to a little after 9. The setlist has no surprise additions. Just a few minor dissapointing subtractions. I guess at a show like that, he has time restrictions. For Janet and I, Joe is one of those musicians that could play Happy Birthday for 90 minutes and he would make it worth seeing. So its hard to complain at all.
Overall the band was great, Joes vocals great as usual, and I never thought the other guys took away from Joes playing, only adding to the song. I was especially wondering that about the keyboards, since I had only ever seen Joe in a three piece band.
               As for the actual setlist...

Bridge to better days (deep purple tease)
   Walk in my shadows
   Blues deluxe
   Mountain time
   Burning hell
   Another kind of love
   Sloe gin
   High water everywhere (acoustic)
   Woke up dreaming (acoustic)
   Django
   Just got paid (gov't mule/led zep/drum solo/jam)
   *  *  *  *  *
   Asking around for you
   Squonk

For all that are going to Struthers tonight...ENJOY.

                                                                see ya,
                                                                        Bill

Thanks Bill! Nice to know others "camp out" for good seats. Such is the Joe addiction! I need to add that the band deserves much praise and we often forget! Bogie is Mr. Personality!!!

Sounds like another great show.  Getting there early has it's rewards.  At least you got to sit down.  Been to many a show that had stand and wait until the doors opened.  Was the show sold out?

Music is good for the Soul...

Hi-

The show was a festival in downtown Pittsburgh.  Joe told me that the promoter was very pleased with the turnout.  Joe was up against a Pirates game and the PGA U.S. Open.

Re: Pittsburgh 6-14-07 setlist

Hey Bill.  Great meeting you and your wife last night.  Good job on the review of last nights show.  Just could not have asked for a better night out in Pittsburgh!!  It was pretty fantastic sitting outside downtown close to the Point on a beautiful June evening watching Joe, Bogie, Carmine and Rick rockn' the blues.  A stellar performance by all and they seemed to be having a blast jamming on stage.  Looked like it was a really good turn out and after the show I saw quite a few people who were blown away by Joe and the boys performance speaking to Bogie, Carmine and Rick.  Way to go guys.......

Pittsburgh Jeff, Don, Laura, Dean and Melissa always fun to see you guys.  Darren nice meeting you too.

Joe thanks a bunch for an OUTSTANDING performance last night and more importantly for coming back to Pittsburgh.  We just luv' you guys here.  See you tonight for one more show at the Cellar!!!!

Barbara
