DIDN'T KNOW A THING ABOUT JB OTHER THAN WHAT I READ IN THE GUITAR MAGS AND HEARD FROM FRIENDS.my singer scored some tix,and the rest is history.i asked my guitar teacher if he was familiar with JB.LOOKING BACK ,I GUESS THE WAS A DUMB QUESTION,huh?anyway he told about the DVD's.so i will have to add those to my "to do" list.i'm glad i found my way here too.hope to chat with many of you AND see some of you at the next shows.

THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE NICE WELCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: HEY

i guess i have to put a rush on those DVD's.listening to the two CD's i just got is great, but it's just not the same as seeing him action.of coarse live in person is the ultimate.seeing the emotion in his playing and his vocals.

Re: HEY

As good as Joe is, I'll never be able to put Stevie down. To me he will always be the greatest. I can't help it. Joe can be number two though, ain't nothing wrong with that. lol

Yeah SRV was very special.  I really like Craig Hopkins book "The Essential" all about Stevie.

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: HEY

That performance by SRV of Voodoo Child on Austin City Limits gives me the chills. It is so awe-inspiring. When he starts doing that windmill thing, that just sends me into orbit. smile SRV is my second favorite guitarist though - tied with Joe. My favorite will always be Hendrix.

One thing that always puzzled me was why Tarzan didn't have a beard.

Andy,

If you don't have it already, get the Stevie Ray Vaughn DVD "Live at El Macambo". If SRV's version of Voodoo Child sent chills down your spine watch the song "Texas Flood" it is scary good!! As a matter of fact, as I'm typing this I'm watching it from YouTube and Stevie just switched to playing behind his back......unbelieveable!!

Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAxLgGVRV64

Roy

P.S. I guess when I get home from work I've got to pull it back out again!

Thanks, Roy. I had a chance to see SRV once but I couldn't make it so I said, I'll see him someday. Didn't happen. I'm still kicking myself. Thank god for video.
