Topic: Korina Flying V (possibly for sale or trade)
Hello gentlemen,
I'd like to preface this by saying that I know this isn't the marketplace, but I wanted to reach out to all of you before I tried ebay or gbase.
A couple years back, I had a custom Korina Flying V made for me by a builder out of Michigan named Ron Luczak (http://luczakguitars.com/). It's a BEAUTIFUL '58-'59 clone, made out of real Korina, and also has a Brazilian rosewood fret board. Its got black plastic, with gold hardware. A RSguitarworks vintage wiring harness, and I ended up putting Seymour Duncan '59 pickups, but to be completely honest, I don't believe they are the right pickups for the guitar. Ron went way over on the build time, so he did end up slapping on a legit Gibson logo for me.
With that all being said, I am really torn on passing on this guitar. But I hardly ever play it since I'm not a gigging musician, and when I play I do so mostly sitting down. This is also my only guitar with humbuckers so I was considering selling it and using part of the money for a les paul traditional, or if the right les paul comes along, just trading outright for it. I hate to lose a guitar out of my collection, but money is tight, and like I said, I hardly ever play it. I'm still really up in the air, and the deal would have to be just right. All in all I paid about $4,000 for her. I have a hard shell case that would also be included. If anyone is interested in pictures, shoot me an email at LThomp5542@gmail.com. I will have it professionally set up before it leaves my hands.
Thanks,
Logan
PS. The back of the headstock is signed and dated by the builder and also signed by Joe (I have photos of him signing it). I'm not inflating the price just because of that, but just some added mojo on this beast. He had this to say about it on and old topic of mine " Btw that was a very nice flying V Logo 33.. I could tell just from holding it a few seconds that it has many good notes in it..
