Re: Lazy J stuff

I've contacted Jesse and requesting pricing info on the J20 and Cruiser... some details below (though i'm sure this information is subject to change). The Licklibrary link above is the first Demo video I know of, thanks wharris...

Love to find the money for one of these amps, just a regular working stiff unfortunately and guitar hobbyist so tough to justify, and the exchange rate is a killer.

Cruiser: price in GBP is £204.97

From Jesse mid April 2011....

The J20 comes with several optional add ons (reverb, tremolo and VAC), and the price varies accordingly.
Here's a price list for the J20 and  all the various options:
please note that the prices are in GBP
  Basic J 20           1286.47
+ Reverb                1543.97
+ Trem                  1440.97
+ Reverb, Trem          1698.47
+ Vac                    1389.47
+ Vac, Reverb            1646.97
+ Vac, Trem             1543.97
+ Vac, Reverb, Trem      1801.47

Since I build these amps exclusively to order, they are not available in stores.
You can order an amp directly from me.
The typical order process works like this:
After we discuss the spec of the amp and establish exactly what you would like,
I would send out a pro forma invoice for you to look over.
If you then wanted to go ahead, you would then pay a 50% deposit to confirm the order.
Your order would then go onto the waiting list...which at this time is 15-20 weeks long.
Near the time I start building the amp, we would be in touch to reconfirm the spec one more time...if you changed your mind about the spec in any way, we can then still accommodate that.

He indicated shipping to the USA on a J20 would be about 125 GBP and about 175 GBP for a J80

Hopefully some more demos pop up soon.

Re: Lazy J stuff

I see that he has a J40 amp now as well. Looks very interesting.

Re: Lazy J stuff

I really wish I could afford one right now...  hmm

That makes two of us. I'm also looking at the Victoria Twin models.

Re: Lazy J stuff

Yeah me three...

Tough when you can't hear the amp(s), throw in wait time and price and it's leap of faith. Though it sure seems Jesse's amps are beyond amazing and from the little correspondence i've had with him, he seems like a really nice guy.... you can get a Victoria 20112, Swart AST or Tungsten Crema Wheat for around half the cost of a shipped J20. Granted they do not have the VAC option...  smile

Re: Lazy J stuff

These Lazy J amps look real good...anyone know how the J20 compares with Fender's handwired tweed 57 Deluxe reissue in the tone stakes?? Played the Deluxe  the other day and was mightily impressed...and the shop only wants 1000 for it brand new which is a good price IMO smile

The option of having tube reverb and attenuation on the Lazy J is fab too...things I wished the Fender reissue had  hmm

I bought a Cruiser pedal about 8 months ago and my advice would be.................. sell everything you don't need and buy one! He builds them to order and I waited about 6 weeks for mine.

Stunning stunning stunning pedal........... great for clean boost and also doubles as overdrive if you need it. Some very innovative features in the pedal

That's a fair few distortion/overdrive pedals on that thar pedalboard!!  yikes

How does it stack with the OCD?  Or do you in fact stack?  Or just run each pedal individually based on the flavour of sound you are after?

JBLP Gold Top #129 - redubbed "#1 in Oz"

Re: Lazy J stuff

I set them all for different sounds depending upon what I'm playing. The OCD is my favorite pedal of them all and is 4 years on the board (the longest of em all). The Lazy J can match the OCD and beyond for overdrive/distortion but is way out in front for clean boost. I mainly use it as a boost pedal as it's so good with any of the other base sounds.

I don't often stack the drive pedals together. Too much noise.

Re: Lazy J stuff

There are some out there who are saying that the Cruiser is the new (dare I say it?) Klon.

Maybe it could be as he did build these, because he wasn't even happy with the Klon!  lol

Re: Lazy J stuff

What's the damage for one of the Cruiser pedals (USD)?

Re: Lazy J stuff

In lieu of being able to afford a J20 i ordered a Cruiser from Jesse, shipped within a day of the order... got it last week, quickly becoming my new favorite.
