Topic: Orange amp HELP!!!!!

Hi guys i need help someone traded me a orange ad30 twin channel head for my supersonic 22, I though this was a good idea at the time but god does this amp suck. It is soooooo brittile and bright no matter what i do. I cannot sell the thing for love nor money. Shall i check the bias and change tubes, will it make that much of a difference, the thing just sounds so bad. What is a guy to do.

need some more details about your rig: things like what guitars you play, what speaker/cabinets you are using, pedals that may be between the guitar and the amp, style of music you are going after, what tubes are in there and how old, and also the golden question: have you tried it in a band situation?  It is my opinion/experience that Orange amps are designed to sit in a mix, and by itself are often "underwhelming".  The AD30 is a pretty awesome amp, and you will need to spend time with it to get a good tone.  For bedroom/playing i go the bassman route, but would never in one million years replace my Rocker 30 for live/recording purposes.

Remember that the AD30 is sort of Orange's answer to the AC30, and if that sort of brit tones is not your cup of tea, it may just be that you picked the wrong Orange.
