Topic: Echo tones on new JB/Beth Hart record

Hi guys

I'm a newbie on here (although have been a Bonamassa fan for many years) and also an avid 19 yr old blues/rock guitarist smile

I wondered if anyone knows what delay/echo units Joe used on the new 'Don't Explain' album with Beth Hart? (Fantastic record!!) I know he used an Echoplex in places but some of the shorter, more slapback sounds sound like they could be from an old analog delay pedal? I'd love to try and cop some of those sounds....

James

Perhaps Joe could shed some light on the topic?? Although I am aware he is a very busy man these days...:)

There is a thread about Joes gear already on the forum including all areas of the gear he uses. There is a lot of information on it. Search in Joe's Gear. Its by Sticky and after the list of Joe's guitars Encyclopedia of Joe Bonamassa's guitar help

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Ok thanks smile Just wondered as I haven't heard a lot of the delay/echo tones on the new record on any of his previous work...especially the slapbacks

I thought it could be an Aqua Puss, I know he's used them in the past......I used to get similar echo tones from mine before I sold it hmm One of my gear regrets.....

He used one at the Baked Potato. Seems it is one of his favs when he's home in LA. Last cut on this clip shows it in use on Spoonful. Huge shimmering delay tone using his JBLP prototype! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwd5vL8fXTw at about 6:00.
