Topic: Carre, Amsterdam, Oct. 5/6/7, 2011

Of course, tonight was totally wonderful!  cool

But, I have to confess that doing as much filming as I did reduced my enjoyment. You simply cannot tap your feet or move body parts in a manner that you might like to, while trying to hold a camera steady. Therefore, I shall either film very little, or not at all tomorrow.

A proper report will also have to wait in view of the time now. It got so late because after the show we (Cathy, Annelies, Marianne, Bibi, Bonapostle, various males and I) went for a drink on Rembrandtplein. Then, Cathy and I met up with Icon and Mrs Icon at a Blues club, appropriately called Bourbon Street. So, it got late.  big_smile

For now, tonight's set list.

Cradle Rock (uploading to youtube as I type)
When the fire hits the sea

Yes, SOY was a pleasant surprise to many lesser or non-BCC fans. Alas, that was one I didn't film.

Re: Carre, Amsterdam, Oct. 5/6/7, 2011

The show was great! Thanks again George for the tickets! Nice to meet you in person too! We (the 6 of us) think Tal is a great drummer. Tal reminds me a lot of Matt Sorum based on looks and drum-technique. Great interaction between Tal and the rest of the band and he's a very funny guy. We had quite a few laughs last show compared to the previous 2 years in Carre, which were more serious.

Re: Carre, Amsterdam, Oct. 5/6/7, 2011

Hi there!
Been there all three nights. Had soooo much fun.
First fun was having the Bonapostle to go with me to the first night. I had one spare ticket and it was SO much fun to have her bying it. We went to De Magere Brug (café next door) and blew some balloons, put some text on them and on flags too. Than we pimped the entrance of Carré. The balloons  allmost immediately blew away because of the wind. Than off for a quick dine and we were early back at the Carré to see the rest of the audience enter.
The first show was pure fun. Opener was The River!!! Yeah! We both hadn't seen it live before so we felt this gig couldn't go wrong anymore (if ever possible with Joe hahaah). Hadrian´s Wall was also played  and the rest of the setlist mentioned above. I don´t write down all songs, but I noticed those two didn´t make it at night #2 and 3 (and Cradle Rock was the opener than). I've whitnessed Jane H. and Rocket have company in headbanging. Hahaah hanging out with BonaPostle is absolutely FUN! The crowd went nuts after the show!
Night #2 I got German BonaFan Harrald in da house. We had a drink at my place and than went with my BF's car. Luckely, because my own car got trouble that night. So this gig is the one we almost didn't make it to! Any way we did make it, allthoug just in time due to heavy traffic. The minute we sat down, Iron Maidon just stopped. We had great places, front balcony in the middle. Thanks to Hammerrrrrrrrrr!! This night the audience was even more enthousiastic than the first night!
We ABSOLUTELY loved TAL!!!! O yeah, the way he makes the audience nuts at Slow Train and make fun at Young Men's Blues, hahaha! Ppl be aware of theze moments! joe had his stand up comedian moment  while telling us that he noticed that there are a lot of hookers in Amsterdam (really?) and that it's weird to see that "family shows" are annouced???? Now how can that be??? He also mentioned he could have easily be killed in Amsterdam by either a bike, a scooter, a tram, metro or taxi or an old lady with her basket filled with bread! Dank je wel Joe, we had a great laugh about that! We also loved the closest song to a hit you never had, and yep even the audience laughed about that too! By the time the encore was to begin we allmost broke down the house. Harald an I were hitting at wood with our bare hands as loud as we could  (au! nevermind) and ppl at the balcony were stamping like a troup of elephants. It really really was so overwhelming!!! Joe and band really deserved it!!! I also saw the lightshow was different, the crew is fast at addapting (off course it's the start of the tour).
After the show I was very pleased to meet Yvonne from Italy. I know her from facebook and she's a huge fan and a very sweet lady!
Than we went for a drink with the rest of the forum members who were at the first rows with Amsterhammer in the Old Bell. Hammer (or Cathy???) had Joe and Beth played at the stereo and we were all very überhappy! Than back home at a quiet normal time (cause I had to work the day after).
Gig no 3: after work to Amsterdam again. We were at the Old Bell again with a big group, dining together. At the Carré the weather still wasn't good, but good enough to have a picture made with the BonaBanner in front of the entrance. Now we were all together at the front rows. And it was so much fun sharing the gig together. We were looking many times at eachother amazed about what took place at stage.
All three nights I absolutely LOVED Midnight Blues (I SO do hope it's on the next cd, hint hint), Woke up Dreaming, Django/ Mountain Time and Song of Yesterday. Tal was absolutely amazing at Slow Train and Young Men's Blues. And Just got Paid was STEAMING. I've seen it many times now, but i still do think it's the best way to send a crowd home in HYPERmode! (Since I got a threedouble dosis, I still haven't landed yet).
At the Bell the Banner was handed to Ian to have it introduced to the UK. After the rest got home or to a next very nice adress to have another drink, Blues Sissy, Harald and I stayed 'tille closing time and were "kicked"out. Those who know me will raise their eyebrows, but honestly it is true. I was so BonaHyper, I wasn't fatigued at all! After a very short night I found out this morning my voice was half gone, due to screaming my lungs out three nights in a row.
Joe and band and team, thank you VERY much (I hope you will come to Carré next year again!). Hammer thanks again! The rest of the Bonafans thank you too, it's so much fun to share the Bonexperience!
D*mn, writing this took me so long, that I was logged out automatically and had to do the last part again...
